I thought Silvestre had scored on that corner kick header, but it was a great save. Then VDS made an even better save, I almost soiled myself.
Smith is playing very well, he's made some good tackles and I don't think he's given the ball away. Richardson is very slow on the ball when he gets it, it takes him a few seconds to control, then look up, then play a ball back to Silvestre that is ridiculously close to a Villarreal player. He's scaring me.
Scholes isn't playing that well, he's been very hard to spot out for anything, good or bad.
The free kick where Ruud almost scored the tap-in made me realize that our team last year had none of the fire or passion that is necessary. If that same situation happened with Carroll last year (not the AC Milan one, but exactly like what happened today) I think that it would have been a goal. A great clearance off the line from Villarreal, but we should have capitalized. After Ruud's shot that hit the keeper and bounced up, he should have just dove to the ball and hit it however he could, rather than stepping away and bringing his foot up. It might not seem important, but it probably would have resulted in a goal (and him getting kicked).
Let's go United, let's pick it up!
