UEFA Champions League 2009-2010

Damn, Inter's fed up with Chelsea and they've been really strong this Champions League season, I'm fearing that Inter won't continue beyond the 16, I'm hoping for the best, if Inter can beat Chelsea and continue beyond the last 16, I'll know that Inter has a shot at the trophy this season

WWJD, my friend ... What Would José Do ... Mourinho's knowledge of the key players at Chelsea will be a huge asset to Inter, and he'll be utilizing that knowledge to full effect in his preparation ...

I wonder who we're paying for these draws :D

Inter Chelsea is going to be one of those big matchups that will actually be very boring for the neutral fan. Both teams play conservatively, so unless the matches get wild it's going to be a snooze. I think Arsenal - Porto and Bayern - Fiorentina will be the most entertaining matches, and Barcelona - Stuttgart has all the makes of another exhibition like last season against Lyon and Bayern.

Weird, I guess this year they're spreading the knockout matches out over four weeks instead of two. That is, half of the teams will play the Tuesday/Wednesday of one week, then the remaining teams will play the following week, and then repeat.

may have something to do with the fact that the Milan teams would have had to play a week apart anyway, because they both play at home first, and it is not viable to use the same pitch on two consecutive nights ...

my theory/hunch is that UEFA would then have decided to expand upon the notion to ensure equal opportunity (financially speaking) for all teams -- the one Milan side who play a week after everyone else would have had absolute tv coverage in all countries by virtue of the fact that it would be the only game on that night; that wouldn't be fair to everyone else, who would have had to share viewership (and thus revenue) the previous week ... the solution would be stagger out all the fixtures, not just one; that's what's happened ... well, that's my theory, in any case ...

That's the most probable reason, at first I thought it was probably just a UEFA money-grabbing scheme...(H)

It sucks that milan-united is the same night as lyon-madrid, so in Australia we'll get the milan-united match live and the lyon-madrid game delayed:blush:

buti, that's wrong.

There will be a new draw for quarter final.

The draw will take place on 19 March 2010, and will also include the draws for the semi-finals and final.

It normally likes this. One draw for 1/16 and one for 1/8.

I double checked it with Wikipedia as well.

Yeah. From that past, it was like that, but since they changed other rules such as playing only 2 games in one day, then they could have changed this one as well.

But, I repeat, I'm not sure. I couldn't find anything on uefa.com to confirm this, so I have to wait for any more credible source (other than goal.com) to confirm it.

what's that? so each leg of 1/16 will be played in two weeks?

we can watch more football but it makes lots of trouble for different league features.

UEFA draw schedule. The draw for quarterfinal, semifinal, and final will take place on March 19th, so no, your bracket is BS. Thank God, cuz that'd put Sevilla against Inter or Chelsea if they advance.

20:45 GMT+1, as usual. :D

Or, you just can't wait? (H)
Daylights Savings Time began in the US over the past weekend ... Daylights Savings Time in Europe begins 28th March ... so the Champions League matches seem to be 1 hour later than usual in the US this week ...

Well, it's something that no one has achieved before, and it's extremely hard to do that, but why to not believe since it seems that we are capable of doing some stuffs the no one did before. :D

Hasn't Madrid done it?
