Olympique Lyonnais vs Real Madrid (1st leg)

UEFA Champions League | Matchday 1| Tuesday| 13 September 2005| 20:45 CET| Stade de Gerland

Real Madrid travel to France, to meet the Ligue 1 Champions. This will definitely be a tough match. Lyon have lost Essien and Le Guen, but they reinforced with 2 very good strikers in John Carew and Fred, Brazilian who scored 2 goals in his debut with Lyon. i would be very satisfied with a draw.

A big set back for Madrid is that Ronaldo is suspended for this match, cause of a red card against Juventus in last CL. Beckham and Pavón are doubts for this match due to injuries. next 24-48 hrs will be descisive for them.

probable line-ups:

Olympique Lyonnais

-------------Coupet--------------
--Réveillère-Cris-Caçapa-Berthod--
-------------Diarra---------------
--Wiltord----Juninho---Malouda---
--------Carew-----Fred----------

Real Madrid

---------------Casillas------------

---------Garcia--Gravesen--------
------Guti------------Baptista----
----------Raúl----Robinho--------

RUSI

El Merengue Argentino
This will be a high-scoring game since we don't have our team straightened out yet, but I think the score will fall our way.

Watch out for Robinho (6) :ewan:

After Celta, I can't see how Real can survive in France. Supporting Olympiakos i hope for a draw but Lyon will most probably get the 3 pts.

The result against Celta is very decieving. Bad calls by the refs had alot to do with it. If you saw the game, you could see that Real Madrid's attack is something to fear. We didn't have more goals, because Celta played with 10 center backs.

Nuno

Starting XI
Most likely starting lineup if Becks isn't fit.

---------------Casillas------------
--Salgado-Helguera-Ramos-Carlos--
--------Gravesen----Garcia-------
--------Baptista------Guti--------
--------Robinho------Raúl---------

This may be the safest lineup with two true DMs.
