Uefa Champions League Quarter-final : Arsenal FC v FC Barcelona

Sevillista

Starting XI
What will Arsenal's starting 11 be? They're missing so many players...

I'm guessing Barca will be:

-------------Valdes-----------
Alves---Toure---Milito---Abidal
-----------Busquets----------
-------Xavi-----Keita---------
Messi------Bojan-------Henry

If I remember correctly, even Toure is doubtful. But yeah, probably that, or Rafa in the place of Yaya. And not sure about Abidal either. Hope to see Bojan continue with what he showed in the match against Athletic, I had been waiting to see him score other than simple tap-in goals.

and we will probably keep playing with the 4-2-3-1. I dont think Henry and Iniesta will be starters. I will go to the stadium today :D

Silvestre chosen over Campbell. lol

Yeah awesome I know :D:( ...but seriously Silvestre can move around better than Sol can, Bojan v. Sol is pretty terrifying tbh.

Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Vermaelen, Silvestre, Clichy, Denílson, Diaby, Walcott, Nasri, Rosicky, Bendtner.
Subs: Fabianski, Eduardo, Eboué, Traoré, Campbell, Mérida, Eastmond and a couple of fetuses.

I thought Eboué would have started over Walcott just to surprise them...anyways...

COME ON YOU GOONERS!:sKIp_E:

yeah we're screwed :(

What Sevillista and RuiCosta said... F*cking hell. I was almost moved to tears by his magic. The best!

great performance from one young man, whose stratospheric ability has allowed his legend to grow unabated by leaps and bounds!

it was a cruise control effort in the 2nd half ... but Arsenal did have a few glimmers ... Rafa Márquez, who I had paid particular disrespect, and who I hoped wouldn't mess up, came through ... he was shaky at the start, and settled as the first half wore on ... but he was decisive in the 2nd half, making some crucial tackles to keep Arsenal at bay ... well done to him for proving my lack of faith in him wrong ...

shame that the semi is against Mourinho and Inter ... I really wanted that to be the final ... ah well ...

looking forward to the weekend now!

It's good to have Messi, isn't it Barca fans?

another Messi show, 4 single handedly goals.

WOW what a game changing performance, that 1st goal was probably the most important all season. Did anyone else think we looked a bit confused with toure/keita/xavi/busi, there was some times there where we couldn't hold the ball and had to kick away. But I think pep didn't wanna leave our team wide open, he didn't want a repeat of the first game.

Men against boys in the end really, Arsenal have a long way to go before they can come up guns blazing against us, I don't think anyone can right now. Over both legs we have shown we are much superior, could have been 12-3 in the aggregate really.

BTW, It sucks abidal got injured again, would have loved to have him in the team saturday but that is the game. Maxwell has proven himself and we gotta put up another big fight. I have belief in this team. We can do this.

That performance by Messi was outstanding, can't imagine what he'll be like a few years more.

I think he's at the peak of his career. The same thing was said about players like Ronaldo, Owen and ... . But we all saw the end, it's really hard for his style to continue this form every year.

Only if he succumbs to injuries/food. And Messi has a style of his own.

I think aging is another factor as well, he can't keep his magical speed forever. Though he can gain more experience (I can't think of any aspect that he can improve, is there any improvement for perfection?)

It seems a bit ironic how young prodigies seem to be already at their peak; and it's such a shame that such brilliance can't last. Let's hope Messi's career is an exception.

Barcelona are the better team, I just wish Arsenal could have had a few less injuries and Diaby could have passed the ball to Walcott when it was 1-0, then Arsenal would have at least have had a real chance to win.
At the moment there is simply no argument that Messi is the best player in the world.
