Do you also know that linesmen can sometimes serve for more than one purpose?

It seems like you didn't even read my post. Under no situation should a reff just assume a call based on his opinions of a team or player. It's unprofessionalism in every aspect, and it only results in bad reffing.

Yea i prolly would be a bad reff but that aint the point.

Also if were gonna talk about the linesmen then it is more his fault then the refs becuase he saw the play closer then the reff so the reff aint to really blame on that one.

This is my last post to this topic.

The ref was sh1t, no escuses for that! If FCPorto didnt win, he's a big reason! :f***:

Game was poor due to tactics and fear, not lack of quality of teams! But if some tried to play football that was FCPorto!

Dont think UEFA will "forgive" Jorge Andrade, they r poor! :kader:

See ya in 2 weeks as we get our ticket to Gelsenkirchen! Depor, we will kick you! :rockman: no hard feelings! just belief! :clapwap:

PS: It is said that Mourinho has an ace for that game, let's wait if turns to be true!

you guys are overeggerating WAY TOO MUCH about the reffing. It was not nearly as bad as the korea WC games, so dont even mention them in same sentence. and the worst call was the red card which was for your team. and to say porto was crap because depor was looking for a scoreless draw is VERY poor excuse. Unless Monaco wins this CL, itll be a ****ty forgettable one;)

According to uefa.com, Brazilian striker Derlei could be fit for the second leg against Deportivo. Jose Mourinho has included him in the squad for this weekend' s Portuguese league match against FC ALVERCA. I only saw one game of his and that was the UEFA CUP final from last season when he scored two goals including the Cup winner. If he is fit and ready to go it would be a huge boost for Porto' s Champions League tilt against the Galician side.

well, i think that you should be very quiet in your corner when the subject is bad football, haven´t you seen the last CL final?
That´s what happens everytime an italian team is on the pitch, cattenacio all the way. There´s nothing more boring than seing italian soccer so you should be very quiet, don´t even move and try not to breath also.

Wat was wrong with the CL final? The announcer (who did the Porto-Depor game) said at the time that it was a highly skilled game, with everything but goals.

I can respect your opinion, but to blame a poorly played match on the officiating is a bad excuse.

You should blame coaches for the poor game. Irureta was happy with the tie and Mourinho had stated before the game "a 0-0 is good for us". If you watch Porto in the domestic league you can see their wing-backs going up up up but against Depor they were too worried about Victor and Luque.
I'm optimistic because Porto played their game (their CL game), having the ball for long time in their own field and seeking a goal in set pieces or long crosses here and there. They defeated Lyon playing that way and they could have defeated us (Maniche and Jankauskas had good chances, and the penalty was clear). But in Riazor it'd be different; Depor will have the ball and we will see a better football game for sure.

to be fair, this game was probably the most boring semi-final i've seen in ages. the CL final was action packed, it was just that the 2 teams were so evenly matched that it had to come down to penalties.

That's a great analysis, Ricardo. Our wing-backs were more cautious last wednesday and it had a major influence on our gameplay. Still, the main factor for our subpar game was the lack of fitness.
Hopefully, things will change if we become national chaps this weekend, which will grant us a week and a half of rest until the second leg...

Deportivo La Coruna defender Jorge Andrade has been banned for one match by Uefa after kicking out at Deco in Wednesday's Champions League clash with Porto.

The Portuguese international claimed he was only joking when he aimed the kick at Deco, who he is friends with off the pitch.

But Uefa have banned him for one game after the straight red card and he will miss the second-leg against Porto.

As for the game. I think it's ridiculous to say Porto's wings didn't push up considering that Ferreira and Valente both were making crosses, so please go rewatch the game, whoever it was that made that comment. Porto are not to blame for the boring game, I won't say who is because I know the haters are going to get on my ass about it.

Also, about the CL Final, it was definitely a boring affair, the only good thing was probably the end. And so what if the commentator thought it was a highly skilled match? If the commentator thought you were an idiot, would you agree?

Last year's CL Final and action packed, btw aren't synonymous by any means, and I DARE you to be able to sit and WATCH the entire game without getting bored.
