Here are a few things I do not like about UEFA CL:
#1 Of course the defensive AI. Or lack of Defensive AI. The CPU will exploit the weakness by cutting back and doing diagonal runs which utterly confuse your defenders. The pressure button works fine until you are in your own third of the pitch, then your defenders refuse to pressure the ball. The AI needs to understand that it's ball first, position second. You must first kill the threat, not run to your spot on the field. If I get broken down with the pass I have no issues. It's when the CPU goes on a dribbling run where none of my defenders can take the ball off him and worse, several of my defenders will run away from the ball and stand together. Once again, the closer to your own goal the more braindead your CPU controlled defenders become. Quite the opposite of what it should be.
The CPU fairs better and is often a genius at covering two passing lanes with one player, nipping the ball off your foot from behind, causing the tackle then stumble animation which makes you lose temporary control while they run around you and take the ball the other way.
#2 The way offside is called. The flag needs to go up immediately and play ceases. Instead you can lob a deep through ball and run 15-20 metres to pick the ball up near the box and then are whistled for offside when the damn offside infraction occurred near the center circle.
#3 In Ultimate Team mode not having the remaining matches noted for your Manager. You can click the right stick to view his card, yes. But why can you not just see them from the screen? I had wrapped up that Italian coach who is a silver 88 I think to a 16 match deal. On I went through my campaign. A few matches later I had a mediocre GK coach who I put 3 and then about 6 more matches on. Many matches later it warned me that I had players or coaches who would leave after the next match. I went in and saw that the GC coach had one match left. Tried to get some coach contract cards through the cards purchase and had no luck. Then decided that he wasn't much use anyway and went ahead with my match. Uh oh. My Manager also had 1 match left.
So I lost him. Then to compound it I went online and bought the 90 French manager for 500. Forgot to look at his contract length and he has 1 match left. So for 500 points I can play one match and lose him, or do what I am doing now and just keep selling/trading players/kits/stadiums/etc online and purchasing bronze packs hoping to get a staff card.
I don't dare play a game as I'll lose the 500 point manager.
