Sporting attacked a lot more than AZ... and futhermore , did you saw the first leg , when AZ almost dismissed the counter attack, and score in the first shoot they had? It's how Virgo said, and i've said it myself, we just can't defend properly... If attacking football is history , surely isn't on behalf of Sporting. Congrats Sporting for reaching the Uefa cup final. Portuguese teams in the finals in three consecutive year, what an achievement.
Even so i gotta give some praise to Alkaamar. Excellent team, great coach and supporters (singing and supporting during all the match). The fact that a team from a small town, with terrible infrastructures and with a roster filled with pratically 90% of unknown players, reached this stage and performed like this, deserves massive respect. It shows you that money isn´t everything and it´s good to see that we still have this "romantic" side of football where the smaller teams can also achieve big things and succeed. I hope Van Gaal doesn´t wreck what Co Adriaanse did in these years and continues to help this club improve, kinda like Heerenveen.
Respect to dutch football, perhaps they will be more lucky next year and win competitions soon. If Portugal did it, it´s just a question of time, until you reenter in your winning ways too.

Yeah he looks like a capable and very professional coach. His tactical setup is irrepreensible. He had the natural limitations of coaching a small team with inexperienced players. Im very curious to see what he can do with a bigger team, although he had that bad spell with Ajax. Before making these speculation exercises, we should wait until there is a confirmation that he will be Porto´s coach. With Pinto da Costa, you never know.

P.s I agree with Virgo. That Van Galen guy is such a dirty player. I can´t believe that he wasn´t sent off. He was the only negative aspect of this thrilling match. With 35 years of age, you would expect that such age would imply matureness. Unfortunately it was not his case.

As a result, matches will no longer be decided by "golden goal" or "silver goal".

All of the changes to the Laws of the Game shall come into force worldwide on 1 July 2004.

so, AZ should have won with 3-1, and they should have played the final!

Whatever, in those few posts I've read from you it has become clear to me that even though you posess some football knowledge you're way too annoying to go argueing with you. You're probably a nice guy, but the way you come off in your posts... I don't know, I'm not digging it. Those last two sentances in your post say it all. The arrogance, it's funny that you mention nationalism.
