UEFA Euro 2012 Group F Qualifying

Champion757

Youth Team
Welcome to the UEFA Euro 2012 Group F Qualifying Mod Thread. This mod will consist of simulated matches of previously played qualifying matches in this group. Hopefully at some point it can result in a .cmp patch with rosters and stadium. But for now it will merely consist of screenshots of highlights of the match. Before I can release a .cmp patch, i need to have the correct formations and even then would need to create some new players recently called up to each team in this group's National Team. It will be difficult to do Latvia vs Croatia at the moment, because I do not know Latvia's formation or strategy.

The game that I will start with is Israel vs Malta. Israel won this match 3-1 on September 2nd to gain 3 points in Euro 2012 qualifying. I am now playing this match. The roster are not up to date, but most players currently on each team are on the roster in my game. (i would like to improve this) Although the rosters are not 100% accurate, I am attempting to accurately portray the team formation and style to the best of my ability and general ebb and flow of a qualifying match. If anyone has any information on teams like Latvia or Malta please share.

As of now, I assigned Matla a club formation and unique tactic sliders and wing play ON. I am playing as Israel with a different club formation with unique slow buildup tactic sliders and zonal defense set to On. Hopefully others can play matches with these teams in their game or chime in on inaccuracies with team styles or players. this is a created team with no base formation so the hard work is formation and team styles right. this is a rough sketch first game and i just want to know what you guys think of the idea of playing all the matches in this group then showing the highlights in this thread.

We can do Latvia vs Croatia next, (a match that Croatia won 3-0 ; perhaps I can be Latvia in that match and try to win) but I need to know more information regarding Latvia. Then we can do Greece vs Georgia, a match that ended as a 1-1 draw. I could try to be Georgia in this match, perhaps? I hope i can get their styles right! The first match will be Israel vs Malta. 45 minute halves. Screenshots of the first 10 minutes of action will shortly follow below.

I would like the credit the following for mods others made that are currently being used my game:

-tanagoo version 1.2 realistic animation patch : as i have said before, one of the best FIFA 10 PC patches. My favorite patch of FIFA 10 PC. Hopefully you can see why from the screenshots.

-regularcat's net physics : simply amazing what rc has done with net physics. i don't know the first thing about how to edit this but you can see how amazing his work is in these screenshots. this is a tribute to rc's work to see his smooth net physics. rc's work on fifa 10 is legendary and i hope he continues to work on fifa 10 pc even though fifa 11 pc is out and fifa 11 pc will have growing pains. hopefully we can continue to keep fifa 10 pc alive because it is apparantly the last game with the ps2 engine on PC.

-enbseries.ini. a great mod for FIFA 10 PC, as well as many other games. I have custom values with some values others have found and some values of my own to increase frame rate and color saturation. (color saturation because enbseries.ini was very dark with default parameter values)

-RENDER_RATE_MODE = 1 with custom NVidia control panel settings.

-custom ai.ini focusing on a measured CPU who sometimes errors shooting or crossing, sometimes even run out of bounds, all to try to attempt to implement realistic variance to cheese goals and to adjust to 45 minute halves. Enhanced conservative goalkeepers who stay near the goal more than default. GK saves and dives in the screenshots. Pay close attention to the speed of the dribbler and the speed of the defender in the screenshots.

-custom common.ini with CLOCK=3 to make clock run continuously throughout match and FATIGUE=2. (makes 45 minutes playable) I am using created national teams that i have downloaded off the web and created stadiums and adboards that i have downloaded off the web. as stated before, the rosters are not current. Any help or advice is appreciated. Hope you enjoy!

Israel vs Malta, Group F Game 1

Israel vs Malta, Euro 2012 Qualifying Group F Game 1

Location : Ramat Gan Stadium Tel Aviv, Israel

Conditions : Afternoon, Mostly Sunny, Pleasant

We are awaiting the opening kickoff...

The first 5 minutes consisted of a feeling out process. A buzz in the stadium. Israel had one shot on goal easily saved by the Malta keeper, and we head into the 6th minute of play.

Okay, here is the stats after the goal was scored, 5:35 into the match :
The event summary screenshot is with enbseries.ini off just to show the difference in my game. Does this look the same for you?

This should give you an idea of the ebb and flow of 45 minute matches. Keep in mind with the stats at 5:35, that is roughly 1/18 of the game with stoppage time. The match resumes and continues into the 7th minute. Malta attempts to march back into Israel territory.

Israel swiftly counters and passes to Benayoun outside the penalty area.

Great save by Malta, keeping his team alive in the early going.

The match continues into the 10th minute...

Back and forth Israel wins a throw-in...

Into the 11th minute...

1/9th of regulation time complete. 80 minutes plus stoppage time to go...

The match continues...

(the shot above ended up going just wide)

After a clearance, Israel steals it and tries to set up a corner...

Throw in declared just off the corner flag...

Then Malta earn a corner...

This corner turned into a near miss and Malta best chance of the match so far. (saved the replay for further analyzation later)

Malta, feeling the pressure of a one goal deficit, they start pressing the action, running at full speed. And stamina meters show some Malta player tiring...

Champion757

Playing as Israel, with 45 minute halves, the strategy is to win the possession battle, limit Malta's time of possession and opportunities. Malta, knowing that they will need to create chances to win, start pressing the action further. And even though Israel were passing the ball keeping the ball away from Malta some of the time, Malta were rushing to try to create a quick counter. See below:

After passing and tiring out Malta for a few minutes, Israel pushes downfield...

The cross goes up...

At the end of the 20th minute, the score remains Israel 1, Malta 0. Here are the statistics thus far. Take note of the number of short passes.

Malta kicks off...

Malta continue to press behind by one goal.

Malta builds sustained pressure...

... but the Israel defense clears.

In the 22nd minute, Balili while making a run towards the goal, is being held by a Malta defender Azzopardi, thus depleting his stamina bar.

A high arcing kick from the goalie results in a huge bounce off the grass...

Another save by Malta.

This time the Malta keeper comes out to the edge of the box to grab a bouncing clearance.

Malta trying to move the ball downfield and create another opportunity.

Sahar leads a counter attack for Israel.

Sahar would take a shot and miss it wide left. excellent position by the CPU keeper on this play. The Malta keeper is quietly having an excellent game thus far.

I'm trying to show that you can do 45 minute halves and have it be sim. It takes work to balance ai.ini and common.ini to achieve 90 minute matches. There are no cinematics in my game and only basic mods. i have very generic national team roster with generic appearance consisting mostly of players in the game playing on club teams. (the rosters i have are similar to WC06 rosters with some updates, it's a travesty that all national teams aren't in every FIFA game and then we wouldn't even be having this discussion) I will create players and try to assign ratings. The purpose of this thread is to talk about player ratings, to discuss the matches, and what tactics and formations national teams are being used.. Like what should Malta's Woods rating be? Should it be higher? How did he look in his last match? These discussions belong here, because after all this is soccer gaming.

Yes, this is soccer gaming on the PC. This is a soccer gaming forum. Why shouldn't we be discussing national teams in euro 2012 qualifying? I don't have to share screenshots or .cmp patches. I do this to show how it can be done but my game is far from perfect. It depends on if the interest is there. If it is not, then i can easily go to youtube with my created content. Some didn't believe that 90 minute matches are possible. Creating a 90 minute match takes work just like other modders have to work to find success.

The reason why people release patches, stadiums, kits, rosters is to share with others. We can easily identify who creates the kits and adboards, but who has the best gameplay in action? Recently there was a thread entitled "SHOW US YOUR GAME". very few people showed us their game. why? why are people afraid to show their game? FIFA 11 PC will not be as deep as FIFA 10 PC. Maybe FIFA 12. Yeah some things will be better but it won't have the engine breadth of FIFA 10 PC.

I uploaded my classic ball patch but no one commented on it many months ago, yet many downloaded it. Now I will try to make a .cmp of up to date rosters for Euro 2012. Who doesn't like the Euro Cup?

Considering you just simply took the teams from the RTWC patch... :S

I did not create these teams. i never did claim to create them. what i am trying to do is improve on the rosters that were released pre-world cup. this is now euro 2012, so players need to be added who were called up recently. the rosters here are close, but not fully accurate. although these rosters did a great job with logos, kits etc, there were no formation or team styles assigned to any of these team.

I never installed the RTWC patch because I heard it had bugs. I imported these created teams individually through CM10. Also, the stadiums and adboards in this stadium i did not create. There are some adboards i've created in other stadiums. hopefully i can show those during future matches.

And so, the match continues into the 32nd minute...

Then into the 34th minute and beyond...

The possession was getting to Malta, and Malta got angry, hit Benayoun with an awful slide tackle tackle in the 39th minute...

This foul is saved on a replay for further review following the match. No card given.

The captain Benayoun somehow plays on...

Benayoun hurt badly but refuses to be taken out of the match...

Into the 41st minute...

Israel (below) with their best chance in a while, but hits the post. (this can be seen at halftime stats)

Offsides? Me???!?:O

We reach the end of the 1st half, with the score, Israel 1, Malta 0.

Lets take a look at some highlights of the first half...

Champion757

Youth Team

After 45 minutes of play, lets go to the halftime statistics.

Lets now take a look at Israel's team stamina halfway through this qualifying match.

No one is in the red yet, this is a good sign. Even though Benayoun is injured, he won't tire as easily while being injured because he won't run in open space. Therefore, he still can be an asset for the team since he can still sprint with the ball. One thing I noticed in this game is that when you are injured like Benayoun is, he cannot do any tricks with the trick stick.

Although I think that's a good thing, it'd be nice to give injured players the ability to do tricks, but risk further injury in doing so with a lower trick success rate. But i'll take the way it is in FIFA 10 PC.

Which is why it would be a good idea to credit the people who made the things in the first place...

Check the first post. As far as the rosters are concerned, I downloaded many created national teams a few months ago, but they were not fully updated or accurate. I credit others whose mods i use in the game. With rosters, it's hard to credit a generic creation of a national teams with players already in the game. Yes it's work and if the exact author of the created teams lets me know I'd be glad to not only give him credit, but hopefully to work with him to improve the rosters. When I downloaded this, all formations were given a generic 4-4-2, with no team styles checked, with default match tactics sliders. (all 50) At this point, there is no reason why WC2010 and Euro2012 qualifying national teams should not be in FIFA 10 or FIFA 11 to start with. Especially considering WC2010 did not come out for PC.

I don't worry about clout, but i'm all about crediting those who deserve. I am not in it to make a name for myself. I am in it to show sim matches between national teams, that it can be done. So whoever made these national teams did a good job with the logos and some of the players, but many of these players were already in the game playing on club teams. If the author of any of these created National teams views this, please let me know and I will give credit to anyone who created the rosters, stadiums, or adboards. The purpose of this thread isn't to take anyone's spotlight. This is to show that others have made a difference in my game and I have created a fairly realistic 45 minute half matches. I'm open to any criticism or suggestions. I hope people chime in and tell me what is good good and what is bad.

I think with Euro 2012 qualifying underway, and FIFA 11 coming out soon, I think this is a good time to start this simulation. Most of the modders are busy with FIFA 11 and that is great. I will not turn my back on FIFA 10 PC. Now is when we need to keep this forum alive.
