Tony Blair has said claims of abuse by soldiers "will be investigated" after images that appeared to show UK troops beating Iraqi youths were published.

The News of the World has published pictures from a video the newspaper says was shot in southern Iraq in 2004.

Mr Blair said the overwhelming majority of UK troops in Iraq behave properly and do a "great job for our country and for the wider world".

The Ministry of Defence has launched an investigation into the video images.

Do you think the vast majority of us want our countries involved in Iraq, and believe all this tripe our governments feed us about liberation and the greater good of humanity?

We all realize, at least I do, that our peers are being sent off to die for the profit of a rich white elite under the guise of restoring freedom, but were powerless to do anything about it because there are just enough igonorant bastards out there (51% actually) who can convince themselves otherwise.

Of course its about oil. More accurately its about making an already very rich echelon of the west even more unimaginably richer, Capa. That is the system we have been born into and are all but powerless to change. Dont think for a second we all love seeing the misery of the east because were all demonic bastards. I am just like you. I dont enjoy suffering, I dont enjoy seeing other people die and be mamed for nothing. Even the soldiers I know who have served over there are normal people. They really believe that they are doing a valuable job and helping Iraq become normalized, despite being universally reviled by the arab world and anti-war crowd, and two-timed and suckered by their own leaders and administration

I say again, come the f*ck off it. Im not trying to start a political war, but thats the way it is. This world is an unfair and cruel place

They're the lowest of the gutter press. Overtaking the Sun in the gutter stakes.

The man speaks the truth.

The News of the World is not at all trustworthy and have proved over recent times that the will do anything to create trouble and controversy.

Anyone who honestly believes this before it is proven genuine, which I honestly do not believe it will be, is quite honestly stupid and are just looking for trouble.

Perhaps people have forgotten the last tabloid abuse story (also reported by the News of the World if I remember correctly) that was proven fake.

That was the Sun. The faked photos that duped and, subsequently lead to the resignation of, Piers Morgan.

It'd be more beleiveable if they didn't stick the over-the-top voiceover and the Iraqi voices.

You can't really expect papers like the News of the World not to print it, they only want to sell papers. Sure there may be British servicemen killed in revenge attacks but hey, the papers will make a few more bob!

The same paper also printed allegations that an England international defender performed a sexual act on himself with a mobile phone and was given a blow job by another Prem player. :|

However it's no surprise, the British army have never exactly been angels. At least we haven`t been discovered cutting the ears off dead enemy combattants as trophies like our troops did to dead Argies in the Falkland`s war.
