Un-signable players

Just wondering about something. I've got this pretty decent lad in my youth team who's juz about to turn 18. I'm in around 2006/7 and he's been in the youth team since i began. He's bagged loads in the youth team but when i try and promote him he's an un-signable player??

How can I get the boy in my senior squad, or is it not do-able????

Is the player greyed out?? If he is, he's one of the players the game generates to make up the numbers in your squad. Probably that's the reason .

Ahhh feck, yeh he's in grey. Balls, because he's the only decent youth player i got!! So will he just sit in my youth team until he's 30+?? already sat in there for 4 years......

I didn't think that the grey players lasted that long, I thought that they disappeared after a few weeks.

If you get a decent size squad, he should disappear

no, they dont always disappear. For instance, on CM01/02 my bro has had a now famous Dean Bailey in his reserve team for 5 years. Its really funny, he somehow gets Captancy of the team even though he has influence 4 or something... but yes, they can stay in there for ages, and so they probably COULD go on to 30. to make sure he stays there dont add any players to the reserve squad. Otherwise he may just disappear.
