Also Vargas is a sensasion of the Argentine League (reminds everyone of Forlan when he was there). He kills it everytime i've seen him play.

I think we should stop using our "Mega Stars" that play in the elite clubs just because they play there (IE: We'd prob be stupid enough to call our players from PSG <who are unfit>, just because they play in PSG.

All teams are forced to bring in their best players due to the contract they signed with the firm which made the matches possible. I know for sure that Mutu, Chivu and company will be there.

Solaimaa, that's a funny sig quote. But think about it, if a bird pissed you off as much as the Roadrunner did, wouldnt you want to blow it's head off ?(considering you have as much $$$ as he did). I think eating it was just incidental. (Or just likes the chase, like that famous episode where he caught him and let him go so he could just keep chasing him. <Keanu Reeves voice: "That's Deeeep man">

haha yes, u do make a good point. i've always loved the roadrunner show, but i don't think i ever saw the one where the roadrunner gets caught. i need to see it now!

Oh PG was right. Uruguay isnt sending the "stars" (Only a minority of EUropean players, and they will be mostly just to "Try out" (IE: NO Forlan/Recoba/Chevanton).

My guess? Theyll try out for the future and the rest to fill in for positions we dont have covered in the local unit.

I don't know which Euro players he'll take, or if he'll take any (where did you hear he was taking Euro players?), but I doubt it'll be Carini, Diogo, Estoyanoff or any other players that have already played a considerable amount of time for Uruguay.

Also, Tabarez hasn't been working with Nacional players due to the Libertadores, so I doubt he'll include Lugano with Sao Paulo practically assured a pass to the Quarter finals.

Also, I think Pablo Lima will play on the right.

God damn it. If it isnt Argentina/Brazil/England/Italy etc, (or like 1 month before qualifyers), Uruguay never bothers sending the "Full team" (ie: Euro players). :nape: I wanted to see Forlan/Viera/Recoba play these games.

In fact, Recoba and Diogo went only because the contract asked for them to be "at least on the bench" (Acording to Tenfield). But Tabarez isnt even playing them cause he wants to test new players. But the people will get their money's worth cause some of these guys are quality (IE: Estoyanoff is fun to watch)

Im looking forward to listening to it though. It'll be a cool game.

What are you talking about Pasion? We haven't used a full team in a friendly for a while now, and I doubt the rival is the reason. I think Recoba and Diogo might play against Serbia & Montenegro, who likely demanded we take at least a couple of our better know players as preparation for the World Cup, although with all the local based players that left today for Germany, maybe not.

Isn't Recoba injured, anyway?

Apparently Tabarez will start the same team that played Northern Ireland; Fabián Carini, Andrés Scotti, Carlos Valdez, Diego Godín, Walter López, Diego Pérez, Pablo García, Guillermo Giacomazzi, Fabián Estoyanoff, Sebastián Abreu y Gonzalo Vargas.

Vs. England was "Supposed" to be our #1 team but 1) Chevanton, 2) Recoba, 3) Montero <retired, so we put Godin> etc were all injured ....oh and Pablo Garcia and D. Rodguez too.

Vs. Argentina (before the Qualifyers) we put our #1 team EXCEPT Recoba. (injured...hehe, what a surprise)

But the other friendlies? Vs. Cameroon, Iran, Korea, Peru, ....all domestic players at the time (except Liguera, Abreu and other "tryouts")

I believe we played with a #1 team vs. Japan though when Us and Argentina played them back to back.

1) Romania had Uruguay against the ropes in the end, but for any Uruguayan reading, this didnt even scare me (not cause romania was playing bad), but it's just Uruguay's style vs. even bolivia to Brazil. Like this might as well be Uruguay playing well.

There's a reason we're known as the "Most stubborn defence in the world". It was fun to watch it again. (they showed the game Live on TVR website, that i found 10 minutes ago).

2) Acording to some Romanians at Bigsoccer.com, their media mentioned that romania is the "Unoficial WOrld Champion" (Interesting little title, that exists now as a "Guiness book of records" type deal.).

Anyways, Uruguay will aparently be awarded this little plaque at a hotel. It's not important, but it's kind of a cute award for it's history. (or another trophy we can throw in the stash)
