Van Hooijdonk - Best Free Kick Taker??

Van Hooijdonk is an outstanding free kick taker. Anyone agree? surely he must be up there with the likes of Becks, Roberto Carlos etc. His success rate is very high and indeed could be higher than Becks and Roberto Carlos. Just somehting i have noticed as this guy can really curve and drive the ball into the back of the net from some distance.

Yes, he's the best freekick taker at this moment. In important games he scores alway from a freekick. Look at the UEFA Cup matches last season, and the final. Look at the Super Cup match.
When the ball goes over the wall of players, the bal goes 95% of the times in the goal. So, his freekick is better than it from Beckham, Roberto Carlos and many others.

:kader: He's not so great, becouse he always shot in the right goalkeeper's corner, if you notice.
The best is Zlatko Zahoviè.:D He he,couse I am from Slovenia.
Anyway I think that Del Piero is the best free kick taker.

Just see the percentages: He scores by far the most free kicks.
Certainly more than Roberto Carlos, not to mention Zahovic :D

My favourite freekicker is Mihajlovic (in the past!!), he score more than 10 goals for a season (Isnt it greater than Becks and Roberto Carlo??), although he lost him scoring recently!!

Can anyone remember the goal he got against Fiorentina(poor team down to Serie C2 because of economical crisis), it is >40m!!

Yup. Van Hooijdonk is very good, but don't forget Marcos Assuncao (he's amazing !). ;) :mrpimp:

Yes! Van Hooijdonk is one of the best at free-kicks and certainly has a higher success rate than Roberto Carlos who rarely scores with them. Van Hooijdonk did after all, hone his skills at a REALLY big club between 1995 and 97 and generously went on to give the benefit of his prowess to smaller clubs like Nottingham Forest, Vitesse Arnhem, Benfica and now Feyenoord.

BTW, no-one will ever compare to the true greats of free-kick taking like Rivelinho and Platini.

Although I am an Ajax-fan I still am surprised with this statement.
Are you saying that UEFA-Cup- winner Feyenoord is a small club?? :confused:

I use to watch Eurogoals on Eurosport and it seems like van Hooijdonk scores a free kick goal every week! They´re not always as beutiful as Becks or Carlos, but he have to have a great succes rate!

He is awesome!

It always pisses me off when people talk about best f-kick takers and noone mentions him :monkey: Its always bex, figo or r. carlos... van Hooijdonk is as good as they are (H) (if not better)

I dont know if u guys are talking about present day but i think HAGI is probably the best ever. I watched him play for about 3 years and he scored on free kicks that we almost 40 meters away.
