first, we must know whether your motherboard can handle pci-express. with that system, i would recommend an nvidia 6600 or an ati x800. they do not cost that much anymore. however, those cards are pci-express cards. there may be AGP versions, but i am not too sure. i would also recommend getting another 256mb of RAM for better performance.

thanks,
my board does not have pci-express, just agp and standard pci.
i want to buy a new motherboard with pci.express but right now i don't have many money. So i'll buy that later. For now i want to buy a agp one.

look this is an Nvidia one, i was watching at a store.

NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6200

what do you think?

Nvidia 6800 minimum these days for a "good" non pci - express card.

It would be better to purchase a 7 series nvidia card or ati equivalent.

Check out scan.co.uk and look at the gfx card menu on the index page.

An nvidia 7300GS would be a good entry level 7 series card. It all boils down to the amount of money you have available.

i do want to buy the best card, but there is the money issue.
I was thinking in buying a decent card, and later when i have the money i'll buy an excellent card.

The 6200 I posted above, is a 256 mb.
Even with this cuantity of memory it would not run FIfa 07 smoothly?

This is from Tom's Hardware Guide:

The Best Video Cards for Your Money: November 2006

Best AGP Card For Under $100: Tie
Radeon X700

Codename: RV410, 10-micron technology
Eight pipelines
128 bit memory bus
400 MHz core, 300-MHz DDR (600 MHz effective) Memory

The X700 might not have the newest technology, but it probably has the best frame rates of any new sub-$100 AGP card. With a higher clock speed than the 6600, it's a bit faster at most things, but it doesn't really dominate.

Geforce 6600

Codename: NV43, 10-micron technology
Eight pipelines
128 bit memory bus
300 MHz core, 275-MHz DDR (550 MHz effective) Memory

The eight-pipeline 6600 architecture has proven itself in the Geforce 6600 GT. Deprived of the Gut's higher memory speeds, this is still probably the most powerful AGP/PCI-e card for under $100 online, and can be overclocked to good effect. Be wary of the 6600LE, which has 200MHz DDR (400MHz effective) memory that cripples the card.

Both of these cards are good choices, just don't expect any miracles out of them. Most new games should be playable at 1024x768, although with the tougher titles you might have to lower some settings.

Also, keep an eye out for the Geforce 6600 GT in this segment. Not quite under $100, they can be found for under $100 with rebates, and they outperform the heck out of the X700 and 6600.

Best Agp Card For ~$140
Radeon X850 PRO

Codename: R530, 90 nanometer technology
12 Pixel Shaders, Six Vertex Shaders, 12 Texture Units, 12 Raster Operator Units
256 bit memory bus
520 MHz core, 540-MHz DDR (1400 MHz effective) Memory

The old X850 PRO has resurfaced in AGP circles, and delivers very, very respectable performance for the older interface. The 7600 GS and X1650 PRO cannot really compete with the raw power of the X850 PRO.

like the other's said, it boils comes down to how much money you have. how much are you willing to spend?

If cost is an issue, you can always try and buy from ebay. Usually you get value for money. I think the manufacturers have websites that explain about these products as well. I have an ATi 9550 256mb myself and Fifa07 runs pretty well.
Hope I was helpful

I have around 80 $ to spend,

i have a few questions:

1:
When you are buying a video card.
Thinking in the performance of the card. I guess the memory(MBs), is the most important characteristic of a card, but
What other characteristics you look for?

2: What about MSI card?
As they as good as ATI and NVIDIA?
What do you think?

A company is selling me a 512 mb MSI card for 60$.

MSI is NOT the same as ATI or nVidia. ATI and nVidia are the chipsets, and then companies like MSI, Chaintek, XFX, Gainward etc. make the cards. it is important not to get them confused. could you get more specific info about the card that the company is selling? we need to know what chipset it is (ATI or nVidia), and along with the chipset, we need to know what type of chipset (nVidia geforce 6600, ATI x800 etc.)

about the performance, the memory is not necessarily the main thing. it comes down to the chipset.

ok, i'll find more about the card.

on the characteristics of the card, i was asking you about details like:
vertex shaders
Effective Memory Interface, and so on.

i noticed this will vary depending on the card.

Ok, MSi makes the cards not the chipset, but,
would you say its a good move to buy a MSI card?

The MSI card I was telling you is a
MSI NX 6200 (512 mb)
The chipset is a NVIDIA GEFORCE 6200
