Is Sky/BBC free of charge?
No, the BBC is funded by the TV Licence.

TV Licence - £131.50

Sky Digital - I think it's between £34.50 and £43.50 a month depending on mix/pack

Telewest Digital - Sky Sports and Movies pack is £26.00 a month

do they keep showing a little bit after the final whistle?
Yes, and I wish they'd all fuck off and do one.

You can't honestly compare that to Vieira, surely? Keane took a dive there got caught and punished that was that. Vieira is a serial coward and cheating hypocrit. I'm glad he bottled it in this league and left, good riddance.

He hardly bottled the league did he. You know exactly what hes done in the premiership with Arsenal.

and I said what I said, i wasnt comparing anything by posting that video im just giving people food for thought. Even the toughest of the tough try and get away with stupid ****, im not excusing the behaviour at all but youd think people would look past that and see what a great player Vieira was, like Keane has despite all his nastyness

He bottled it in the sense he didnt want to have face the agro anymore. Keane was a great player, yes his behaviour was questionable at times and there was a sense of him wanting to do justice for himself (see the Haaland incident of course), but I respect his principles.

But on the other hand I just think Vieira is simply a sly individual who never turned down an chance to go down holding his shin (his own personal trademark) and who thinks he is bigger and better than anyone else. That game at Highbury a couple of years ago illustrated the difference between the two perfectly.

I havn't dove to try to get a penalty, or a foul. I cant do it, I dont even know how to be honest. I got blatanly shoved because i beat the defender but it wasnt enough to fall, but I could have, and then my coach yelled at me for not diving. I said " Coach im not spanish I dont know how to do that!" :(

P.S.- this has nothing to do with the conversation.

Viera > Keane
Wrong. Plus try spelling his name correctly if you like him that much.

Keane's quote about Vieira constantly harping on about his native country: "If you love Senegal so much, why don't you play for them?" is simply legendary.

Both players have their faults I agree. Vieira was also a great player dont forget. He was sold by Arsenal, he didnt run, he was sold.

Imo Vieira is/ was a much better player than Keane as proven on a number of occasions. Technically superior, bigger, faster and more dominant. Its a matter of opinion though I guess and I respect yours Shearer cuz you seem like a cool guy.

Watch this if you have forgotten what this guy does better than anyone else

ShearerM4 what are you basing your judgement on anyway? Any one with half a brain would know that Vieira is a faar batter footballer than Keane. Just look at what Vieira has accomplished compared to Keane, he is also able to play in a variety of leagues without taking time to adapt and excel on the international level. On the other hand Keane has only won things with united and has been a flop on international level. Arsenal struggled without Vieira and took time to recover from loosing him. United on the other hand are doing faar better without Keane.

Quite the opposite I'm afraid. I can't really even be bothered going through your points one by one, but you are simply wrong on all fronts.

edit: actually I do have a bit of time:

"Just look at what Vieira has accomplished compared to Keane"
That isn't as relevant as you might think when comparing two players. But just going along with it anyway, Keane has won far more than Vieira, personally and individualy being named Player of the year. Plus he captained the ManUtd side who dominated for several years.

"able to play in a variety of leagues without taking time to adapt and excel on the international level."

Again, Keane was reknowned for having two façades to him. When United were playing in the Chapions League, he became a total pro, and put in brilliant performances on a weekly then was able to adapt back into Premierleague style for the weekend. And don't even need to go into details about international level... having a go at Ireland because they're not as good at France is a bit silly.

"Arsenal struggled without Vieira and took time to recover from loosing him. United on the other hand are doing faar better without Keane."
Again I don't find to be a relevant argument at all. It has more to do with Alex Ferguson's quality as a manager than anything else. His long term planning has meant ManU have never suffered more than a little bit from the loss of certain players. But even if was a valid point, I'd say that Arsenal finally got a hold on European football, and made it to the final in the very first season big Pat was no longer there.

And this is coming from a Shearer fan. Yes Keano was a mentalist at times (still is, had some words to say to the press only yesterday), but you cannot doubt his genius as a footballer.
