Wage cap for Football like in American sports?

Just been reading an interesting piece in today's Daily Star. They mentioned a petition which has been set up which is try and raise awareness of the escalating wages being paid to star footballers.

They have a wage cap in the A-League.. personally i don't like it, but in smaller leagues it helps stop a few teams from dominating the league and some teams stay at the bottom

Really, a top players wages are on a par with what an "A" list actor could earn from ONE movie. Both individuals are in the entertainment industry, and they get paid so much because people want to see them and be entertained by them.

The petitioner's use of "soldiers in Iraq", as a comparison of how unfair life really is, makes me laugh. Soldiers CHOOSE to be soldiers, and they make that decision knowing the wages are sh!t.

Personally I don't have a problem deciding who deserves the most money. Football players who can make people happy playing the beautiful game, certainly deserve it more than a retard who likes to carry a big gun and shoot people.

Some people just don't like to see a working class bloke with so much money. It really pains them, it really does. I bet he reads the Daily Mail too.

You can't tell owners how to spend their money, they'll leave the league and set up their own. In the end, they win.
