Hi everybody!
I finally found some time to start working in a new faceserver. Please don't ask me now when it will be released, as soon as I know I will tell you.
In PES5, it was a problem to install new facepacks or optionfiles. You often had to change your map.txt. Somebody wanted a special OF which would be used by every player. However, this would be hard to realize because you might want to play with other teams. Instead I thought of a second map file which belongs to your OF.
For this, we would need some kind of database, maybe based on one internet page, which contains all teams and players and gives them unique ids. To these ids, you can then connect your face/kit using the "old" map file. Here is an example:
Faceserver for PES5:
PlayerID: 1234
Path to face file: "sample.bin"
Line in map file: 1234,"sample.bin"
If faceserver detects a player with number 1234, it looks up what is connected in the map and uses that file.
My idea how it could work in PES6:
PlayerID: 1234
The player's unique id in the database: 987654321
Path to face file: "sample.bin"
Line in the new players map: 1234,987654321
Line in the old map: 987654321,"sample.bin"
This way, you have to create or change the new map file if you modify you OF. It simply translates the player's OF id to a unique one. The good thing would be that you can easily install new face packs or new OFs. The unique id would be the connection, so problems like in former times should be avoided. Of course them same could be done for the teams.
Please tell me what you think. If you have other ideas (only about this issue, no release requests!), you post them here. Maybe you know such a database, then also write it to me.
