Was a solution ever found for the Firestorm gamepad Right Analog stick problem?

This is the response I got from ea after I told them some gamepads "work" ie freestyle on right analog stick
"I have tested the Logitech Wingman gamepad and was able to use the right analog joystick for Freestyle control. It appears some joysticks have this ability but not others. The only suggestion I can give you is to email [email protected] and ask for a patch that would allow the Thrustmaster controller to support Freestyle with its right analog joystick. I am sorry I cannot be of more assistance than this. You can check out the message boards on http://www.fifa2003.com to see if anyone has figured out a way to do this on other controllers, but as far as I know, it is not possible."
This is the response from Thrustmaster:
"The game demo wasn't a great help, and we're still waiting on EA for a bunch of games, Fifa being one of them."

I have the same excact questiones... its really nonsense that the rumbeldpad and some other pads work put there are problems with some saitek and thrustmaster pads... as they are among the most common and best gamepads. i was considering buying a logitech rumbelpad or a firestorm dual power and i must say in I liked the firestorm much more and for EA not supporting it in FIFA2003 is just absurd. and it works perfectly well with NBA Live 2003 - freestyle and everything. but if you find something out. let me know as well...
