Was anyone else surprised to see some of Lippi's choices for the shoot-out. Shows how much faith he has in Iaquinta. A forward with the freshest legs on the field gets passed over for none other than the likes of Matrix. Why bring him on in the first place? Especially with Gila on the bench.

not at all. considering how much faith lippi showed towards iaquinta, i was expecting it. del piero was going to be a given because of the moment and because they were practising with DP in a wide position. de rossi was the best option even after his suspension. and iaquinta was playiing as more of a wide midfielder. that is why gila was not selected. shame cause i really wanted to see him.

nope, because if it was a different Ref italy wouldnt have gotten that red card.

Will never know, but Italy still had more shots on net even with a player down for half the game.

Australia was good, but i dont see them beating Germany.
