It looks like we can't use the World Cup in the Cup Mode to play next year's World Cup. In the knockout stages the winner of Group A doesn't play runners-up of Group B etc etc. Can this be changed? Or we have to play the group games in league mode and the knockout games in Cup Mode.

Yea its all strange, Is that how it was in the previous world cup??? Thats a good idea but i guess u would have to write it down sumwhere.... not a bad idea buddy

To do this you have to play eight mini leagues first and then set up a knockout competition for the group winners and runners-ups. This is going to be a pain as we cannot carry the players' statistics into the knockout states, e.g. accumulate the goals scored for the top scorers. Surely Konami must know the format of the World Cup before releasing PES5. I just wonder has FIFA2006 got this problem?

Well it's there on WE9. But ofcourse you could only play with the Japanese team.

So in Konami world cup mode who does the winner of A play? Maybe we can figure out the structure and then rearrange the teams in the first round accordingly.
