The reason kaka looked better than ronaldinho is because ronaldinho was double and even triple-teamed throughout thematch.

Nail on the head right there, man. I totally agree with you, bro. It seemed as though Croatia was determined that they were not going to allow Ronnie to beat them in this game. There were like 2-3 defenders converging on him instantly as soon as he touched the ball. As one of the best if not the best attacking midfielders in the World, obviously Kaka is gonna benefit greatly from teams putting so much attention on Ronnie and singling him out. I'm not saying that he wouldn't be just as impactful without Ronnie on the pitch with him, but there's considerably less expected of him than Ronnie. Especially with how predictablly dumb Brazil played yesterday. Everytime the ball was brought past the half-way line, it was dumped on Ronnie to do something with.


That's why I've said that it would be better for both the team and Ronnie if more of the attention and touches were shifted over to Kaka.

Ronaldo needs to play as much as possible. the group stage is perfect for him to get his sh*t together. but even if he doesnt, i think starting Ronaldo and then letting Robinho come on later in the game is better, because Robinho comes on with so much energy. if Robinho would start, i dont think he'd do as good.

I have to echo the sentiments already expressed in this thread

Croatia's support was absolutely stunning, and I would say its unparalleled, except I saw almost the same thing in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals in Edmonton.

Something about that crowd that recognizes their team is fighting against the odds and that they likely will not win, but doesnt give a sh*t and sings themselves hoarse gives me a tear of joy. In Edmonton, the crowd didnt stop with team chants and got louder in the breaks and timeouts to keep the Canes from confering, and even sang loud as they were leaving after being beaten. Croatia's fans were every bit as awesome and I think the fearlessness of their team was at least partly inspired by that kind of support

The croatian fans had 823 flares confiscated, and skill got 2 in. haha.
