Ok, why the hell would you schedule one group C game on the same day as the Group B games....

They could have just kept the USA-England game on Sunday..you know, the same day as the OTHER Group C game..the audience wouldn't be hit because it would still be the weekend. Two games is manageable....three starts to get a bit excessive.

Anyways, Argentina and Nigeria in the same group as WC 2002. Argentina represents the single juiciest story at the World Cup. Their World Cup will either result in an unbridled triumph or a lowest of the low mess-up. And in either case, the person that will have to front up will be Diego Armando Maradona.

He's playing Messi as a prototypical number 10.....that creative playmaker Zidane role. That's not the role that Messi plays at Barcelona where he's a forward. THAT's what Maradona should've done. Messi has disappointed in that role throughout WC Qualifying and it could continue in the knockout rounds(let's face it, their group is sh*t).

England-USA: IT all comes down to what the Americans do. In the Group of Death opener against the CZE, with VERY high expectations, they forgot how to play and got flatlined. If that happens again, the same outcome could follow. England though, I think, will take a little while to get going. I think it will end up being a pretty even game for around an hour. After that, I'd expect England to take control.

I'm not too keen on Korea Vs Greece. But worth watching since Park Ji Sung plays for Korea. :innocent_smile_1: I'm predicting a draw maybe or a close win for either side.

Otherwise the 2 games seem quite promising. Would be interesting to see Maradonna's team playing against a physical Nigerian side. I'm predicting a narrow win or a draw for Argentina but you never know. I wouldn't be surprised if Nigeria won considering the fact that its being played on African soil.

As for Eng Vs USA, I'm predicting an English win. Something like 2-0 or 3-1. But USA could cause an upset. If USA score first, then I can see them adopting an ultra defensive approach like against Spain in the Confeds cup and snatch a draw or even a win.

Predictions:

Group B:
Korea Republic - Greece [0-0]
Argentina - Nigeria [3-2]

Group C:
England - USA [3-1]

I'm debating on bothering to wake up at 6:30 AM to catch the first game or not. I just sat through a snooze-fest that was France - Uruguay; it made the opening match look like a hell of a show.

Anyway, I'm definitely looking forward to the latter games, though. I wanna see how Messi does... I wish him well, because he's the ****, but I do hate Argentina. Tough choice.

I think the England - US game will be awesome. I just think it will, the storyline and the lead up and the complete overrating of England makes this into a juicy match up. Unfortunately I gotta catch it off the DVR later on... ******* work.

If I were you I'd just skip the first game. I have a feeling its gonna be very boring. Because its Greece. Enjoy your Saturday morning sleep.

Well at least the Sun is throwing some slightly more intellectual punches than they usually do, I was expecting 'Yanks R Wank', maybe the Daily Star will go with that?

After yesterday's antics I'm expecting South Korea and Greece to go full pelt at one another, with each team seeing it as a great chance to get a crucial 3 points, so I am predicting goals and I just think South Korea will have more firepower at the end of the day and win it 2-1.

Argentina - Nigeria I see as a more cagey affair like France Uruguay yesterday, I can see Argentina struggling to control the game as much as they might want, but at the end I think one goal will see them claim all 3 points, so Argentina to win 1-0.

Last game of the day (will probably be munted by this time if yesterday is anything to go by) I expect to see a tight boring game for the first half anyway, just typical England really, second I think both teams will be told to loosen up and just attack more and it'll lead to goals. 3-1 England.

Going to watch the Argentina match at a friend's house.
Unfortunatly I'm occupied in the evening, so I can't get to watch the England vs. USA match. :(

Oh and BTW, I bet on the Korea match to become the most boring game of the whole tournament.

Cancel that bet now. France vs. Uruguay was one of the worst games I've ever seen. It's hard to imagine a game more boring than that.

Well, it's much better than a France-Uruguay game though.

We've had a nice first half with most players doing well, quite leaded the game because of our earliest goal ever. It was expected to score more than 1 goals but not because of ****ing referee! Greece isn't playing good than I previously thought.
