The good thing is we still have bragging rights over the Saudis, we only conceded half the goals Saudi Arabia did in 2002.
As great as Germany were, and their midfield was unbelievable (Mesut Özil.. what a prodigy), it was a really shocking performance by Australia and I think we made the Germans look somewhat better than they actually were, Australia went in with a strategy and formation that they had never tried even in friendlies and it failed miserably, they could not come to terms with Germany's blistering speed and were killed on the flanks as Lahm and co made perfect use of the space Australia was offering them, what sucks the most is Australian frustration turned into physical aggression as they kept fouling the opposition and picking up all sorts of cards. Now we step into the next match with zero confidence and without our best player.
So how is the Aussie public taking this? they jumped off the bandwagon and went back to following cricket and Aussie rules, that is all. Such a fickle crowd down here.
Ghana and Serbia will now not just be looking for wins against us but pretty big wins, and will probably lose patience if it doesn't happen easily, that would work in our favour if we know how to exploit it, but I'm certainly not holding my breath.
