Well, dont forget Ronaldo is 10 years older. He WAS the best player in the world along time ago. Rooney still has time to score 15+ WC goals. Hopefully starting tomorrow.

We dont fuction at all as a team most of the time TBH. If the guys dont pick it up for tommorow's game, we will be on our way home beaten by a squad of players who DO perform well as a team.

Lets be honest, so far for whatever reasons our football has been dross. We have bundled our way through to get this far and unless we play like we mean it tommorow, we will be out, and if we play without direction and the players fail to gell, we will lose to a side who do play with teamwork and style. Tommorows game is Svens last chance to prove to us all that England CAN play as a team when it really counts. If we lose, I will make sure that he never manages an England game again......... :rofl:

Seems like i missed a lot of crap in this and Holland vs Portugal threads during my trip to the Domenican Republic. Sad to see the old stereotypes still hold. Was expecting this behaviour from someone like ShearerM4 but to see you writing crap like that Pede, was really disappointing. You were nothing like that in that Portugal vs England thread in the Euro2004.
About this game, i hope it´s not a battle like the Holland vs Portugal match and i sincerily hope that the best team wins.

Yeah I was having a very bad day Vinnie. I've tried to draw a line under it and put it behind me but some people are having a problem acccepting that. Still never mind, like I said earlier, May the best team win and whatever the outcome my comments will be respectful and civilised. I'm getting bored with playing the big mouth, some people actually think I'm really like that all the time, when as you know, I'm really a softie. :$

I'm on an image rebuilding crusade now so, I'll be ignoring all the rubbish posted by the morons among us, and only respond to sensible, well formulated and civil posts. I will endevour to answer in a likewise fashion. It won't be as much fun but I think things have gone a little too far to be funny any longer.

England has been playing like a big pile of cack. Despite that I'll be rooting for them tomorrow and hopefully they will start playing like they should.

Of course its negative, I've already posted all the positives and the negatives still need to be said. I dont think i posted anything that was not accurate. That does not mean that we can't click tommorow and play as we know we can. The point is this, we have to click or we will be beaten. Alternatively, we can stumble through this game just like the previous ones and still win. The trouble with that scenario is, we will need a good bit of luck and Portugal to play badly if we are to win it. We are not a lucky team and Portugal rarely play badly. Therefore we need to be at our very best.

Bravado from the fans dont win games. A functional team wins games and thats what we want isn't it?

to be honest we haven't played a good game in the tournament either.

both teams have had rare flashes of brilliance but are still looking for their form.

Both Ronaldo and Rooney haven't showed up yet... the teams are in very similar situation except for the suspensions for Portugal.

So obviously England has the upper hand in theory.

Ronaldo has missed the last two days of training. Even if he does play, I can't see him doing anything significant..he simply wouldn't be 100%.
