WC Round of 16: Argentina vs Mexico

For me Ricardo Osorio was our MoM... he did so much for us, he held us together back there.
Oswaldo: What can u say about him, he had a solid performance. No way ANY goalie couldve stopped that. Our 3CBs were on thei game today, and when they came up they always had a positive impact. Pardo was tearing up that DM spot, sadly he got injured. The same goes for Guardado, for being only 19 he played like a veteran, hes too good for Atlas now. Mendez...WOW... i didnt think he could ever play like that, much like his partner in crime on the right "Gringo" Castro, they had Sorin going crazy. Borgetti tho not at 100% played his heart out, he showed balls when they were needed. Defensively Kikin was great, he didnt do much offensively but its too late now. Sinha came in like the Sinha we all kno, he juked he ran he passed, he created great plays likes hes supposed to. Ramon Morales was playing on his level, dont think he shouldve been taken out. Everyone gave it their all, they can leave with their heads held high. Mad respect for Lavolpe, theres NOTHING u can complain about if ur a mexican fan, this is how big teams go out, and we played on par with one the best.
I wont comment on the ref and his bitchy attitude toward Mexico.

Oh well mexico, we always get ****ed in the round of 16. But i think our performance in the world cup overall was one of the WORST in recent times. We did horrible in the group stage, and we played like hell like we always do in the round of 16, but we always go out.
oh well, **** la volpe. He should have taken the better players, not ****en TORRADO and CHIQUIS. THanks to his decisions, he substituted two mediocre players: torrado and pineda.
I'm very dissapointed with this team. buh bye Mexico, you will always be a mediocre team.

congrats argentina ; mexico maybe deserved this game ; but this game is win by goals ; like i always said whe have really crappy forwards; kikin, borgetti and franco are like big ******* tree logs ; everytime they receive a ball they lose it; "mexico played like never but lost like always" ; but iam relly proud of the defense ; they are a ******* elite defense ; Marquez and Osorio were for me the mexican players of the world cup; hopelly osorio and salcido can play in europe soon.

shut the f*ck up Alvaro, Pineda and Torrado came in cuz of injury. Worst performances? Get the fu*k out of here with that sh*t, yea the group stage was crap, but we had NEVER played like this in the round of 16 EVER... not with MEjia Baron, not with Lapuente and def not with Aguirre. You dont deserve to be mexican, get the fu*k out of here, i hope they ban u again. We showed we're a team to be taken seriously, just had bad luck.
Are you ******* kidding me? So what? the Mexicans finally decided to "wake up" in the round of 16. They always play well, but overall this has to be one of the worst performance OVERALL in the 2006 world cup for MExico. Hell, Mexico didn't even DESERVE to go through to the second round.

My heart goes out to Mexico, they fought like warriors. Argentina won due to some individual brilliance, and they're such a classy side, but at times were made to look ordinary because of the great football Mexico played. Now we have the match up everyone was anticipating with Argentina going on to play the hosts.
Mexico can leave with their heads held high, if my team was to go out of the world cup i'd want them to lose the same way.
But definately the best quote of the night was from the match commentator after Zinha came on: "Zinha is not the biggest man out there, but what he lacks in inches he makes up for in application"

Serious you guys that say the referee was biased for Argentina have no place to talk, what about all the fouls Mexico did, specially on attack and specially Borgetti, and no yellow card was shown. And Ayala was behind the line of Heinze that's why it wasn't straight red.

Maxi Rodriguez was the man of the match, in my opinion. Mascherano started to play better when Cambiasso was taken off, and the same for Riquelme when Aimar came in. Ayala a wall like usual, good job of Pato in the keep.
Probably Heinze was the worst of Argentina at first some errors for example not keeping the mark on Marquez and that yellow card you may have to blame the pitch about how he lost that ball that way, many players have complained that proper boots for this kind of pitch don't exist.
No idea if it was only me but part of the second half until Argentina's second goal, Mexico didn't look with a lot of will to attack.
I believe it's better that this was such a tough match, because this will help to fix things to play teams like Germany next.
