Grosso comes from the outside, goes past one, trips over Neill, and no penalty is called despite the ref being right there. What do people say then? "You dont make that call in the 90th minute"? or "let the players decide". No, no frigging way.

This thread demonstrates groupthink at its finest. The Aussie fans are one thing and are talking out of anger, but everyone else is just jumping on the "blame the ref" bandwagon simply because of the horrible officiating that has been present at this world cup but was not present in this game. Have an opinion of your own people

the penalty may have been a little harsh... but i really dont see the dive. grosso only ran into the defender. and as for the "bull**** call" everyone is talking about... did you not see the first half when matterazi was sent off? that was a yellow card at worst.

of course you'd expect italy to defend the ball especially with one man down. but they did create their chances.

and also good job to the australians. that was a good performance.

Hey dip****, I'm not Australian. I was actually supporting Italy in this game. But, being a fair and rational person, Australia deserved to win, and the penalty call in the last minute was utter bull****! Italy played like ****, Australia played entertaining football.

SO **** YOU STUPID ****! I'm not an Australian fan, and I even I realize when a game is robbed!

I don't give a sh!t if we went into overtime and lost fair and square. We didn't lose fair and square here. It wasn't even a penatly. Did you see the replay or just watch it when it happened? The f**king Italian fell over him. Neil did nothing wrong.

The match should have went into overtime. If italy won in overtime, good on them. They didn't deserve to win like this. And it sucks because we are now OUT OF THE WORLD CUP thanks to this SH!T DECISION.

Damn right it was a good performance... A hell lot less boring than the piece of crap football you guys play. 'Oh lets all defend'. I almost fell asleep when you guys had the ball. the f*ckin australian a*shole layed on the grass right in front of grosso and made him trip, all grosso did was try to jump over the a*shole and continue playing the ball, he didn't dive

Im not particularly angry about it at all.
Its just football really, bad decisions, missed chances, the good luck and the bad.

What kills me is that it happened with 8 FECKIN SECONDS TO GO!!!!!!!! before we had another 30mins to wear the Italians down anyway...

But above all the disapointment Im a VERY proud Australian football fan tonight :)
We did our nation and the growth of football in Australia a huge service with our performance at this World Cup, we showed that we are not cowed, and can match champions like Brazil and Italy and in contrast to Australia not 2 years ago the improvement is super human.

Well done Australia, the loss is heartbreaking but the achievement in Germany is inspirational :)
