Yeah, Martinez WAS playing like sh*t for about a year, he's 5 games and getting back to form. Who 's gonna replace Carmonas spot? The ONLY true Right Wing Back in Mexico is Diego Martinez...Pity Altamirano comes to mind, but no. Arellano, yes off an injury but if you don't call him...Why not Gaitan? And Beltran DESERVES a spot.

Where is (giv'em a chance) Diego Martinez (Necaxa)?
He's shit, there's no way he deserves a spot on the national team and for Bofo, he's too inconsistent. He could have a great game one day and play like complete shit the next. Also, what the hell do you have against Ramon Morales, "He's a nice guy, that's it." Have you seen him play, he's a lot better than you think he is. Everytime you seem to talk about him you underrate him, I guess its because he plays for Chivas or something.

I dont think he has called Blanco becuase this might break up the great team chemistry and atmosphere that is amongst the regular players. Although I am sure he will eventually call him up when the time is right such as during the World Cup.El Bofo is a good player but the problem with him is that he is not regular. Where is el Jimmy Lozano, he has proven he is worthy of the seleccion mexicana although during the Confederations Cup he had a bad tourney.

What happened to Bofo? last year he was really good with the team but he has not been called in awhile. And Beltran is a great for Pumas and he deserves as much a chance as anyone else.

Apparently, there is still no live English-language broadcast for this game. No, not even ESPN classic, Avalanche.]

Last I checked, the USSF/SUM is still looking for an English-language home for the visit of the Wetba...er, Mexicans. Their preferred option is still ESPN Classic, but it appears that if that isn't available, their Plan B is FSC.

They'll have to pull something special out for this match, Mexico is not the tactically weak, overconfident team of the past. Being a Football fan, you have to realize that. They have some very skilled players, aside from the younger players who have everything to prove, plus Lapolpe (as much as I hate him) has an excellent idea for this team. If anyone thinks that the game against Brazil (in the Confed.) was a fluke, you need to find a new sport to watch, cause you perception for this game súcks, seriously.

I do follow alot of American players, and I believe this World Cup will be in part their show.
But do they have a strong enough "backbone" to support the pressure of this game?, we'll see.

No Blanco.... :nape:

How about the USA without Donovan, and DMB...
...Just to make it even...

:fool:

Yeah I agree, that match with Brazil was a fine display, fun to watch even for an all out USA fan.

I love this match regardless of how important it is for WCQ. It's always a good test for us to play Mexico, and the rivalry gets better every year :hump:

And no way Blanco is worth Donovan & DMB... :nape:

Oh and as usual Donovan will be invisible during the whole game :S

The ONE time Donovan puts his lazy @ss in gear is big national team games so I think your wrong. But we'll see.

Since Blanco was transfered to Tiburones of Veracruz a couple of seasons back, his growth as a football player has been enormous.

His technique, and his "vision" in the field, are just incredible.

He's without a doubt the best footballer in Mexico right now (including foreign players), and in my opinion, above the entire National Team.

They were doing a couple of highlights today, in Super Estadio (GolTV), of what he has done so far in the season...

Man, the MFL doesn't deserve to have him, he should definitely be playing in Europe.

Don't think I'm even a fan of his, I despise Club America, but he's too good for me not to see it.

Anyway, I'm not a supporter of Guille or Gaitan. (or Zinha for that matter)
We have more than enough talent in our players.

Beltran should definitely be called, the guys has a great spirit.

Arellano does need some more time to get into rythm.

Maybe if Bautista continues doing well, he should definitely get another call. So far in the tournament, whatever Chivas has done, it is in a big part due to him.

And Arce... ..well he's just like Bravo, no luck with the NT...

My view of Blanco: Simple "es un maestraso" the words used by the same guys on GOL TV, I think his experience and getting back to 100% from that horrific injury have given him more "soccer knowledge" than ever. He was sOOOO good before the injure that we forgot how good he was, now that he's gotten back to form we all see why he's wearing #10. Thats that, he's in the NT...no matter how many times he DOESN'T get called before the WC, Lavolpe isn't silly enough to leave him out of the WC...and all those persional issues they have will be forgotten as the WC approches.

My view on foreign players who have Mex. nationality JUST so they can play for NT: At first I really doubted Lapolpe for callinp Zinha, he's proven us that he is one of the best Mexican Players, and that his nationality has to come in second when the guy wants to play for his adoptive country. I however, personally think that he could "easily" lose his job as a starter but not on the team. With Arellano coming back, he is yet ANOTHER who we've forgotten saved our ASSES in the 98 WC, he's our true CAM.

This is how I see us before the WC:

----------Sanchez-----------
--Marquez--Osorio--Salcido--
???-------------------Lozano ???= not Maza (H), Pineda?, Rojas?, Mendez?
----------Torrado-----------
---Arellano------Perez-------
-----------Blanco------------
-----Franco-----Borgetti-----

Subs:
(GK) Ochoa (H) ..."va que vuela para la seleccion, si lo quieren" San Guillermo(H)
(CB) Beltran
(CDM) Pardo
(LWM) Morales
(CAM) Zinha
(CF) "Bofo" Bautista
(ST) Fonseca

I hope he comes back too but when Lavolpe has a grudge against someone, nothing good can come out of it. Blanco may be a prick but he's a damn good player and we need him, I don't care if people say otherwise.

About Zinha, from the times he's been called up, I can only recall him having a couple of good games. He loses the ball a little too often for my liking and can dissapear completely during games. No doubt he's a good player but there are other players who can come in and probably do a better job, he just hasn't impressed me while on the NT.

The Man From Ohio
I'll take a stab at it...

GK: Keller
RB: Hejduk
CB: Onyewu
CB: Berhalter
LB: Bocanegra
RM: Donovan
CM: Reyna [C]
CM: Mastroeni
LM: Beasley
ST: Johnson
ST: McBride

I don't know how probable that is, it's just what came off the top of my head.

Starting XI
I dont know how fit Beasley and Eddie Johnson are. This is what i think Bruce will do:

--------Mcbride---Donovan-------
Convey-------------------Ralston
--------Reyna---Mastroeni------
Lewis--Onyewu----Boca---Hejduk
-------------Keller--------------

I would rather see Quaranta over Ralston. But hes probably not ready for a big game like this. Convey is tearing it up in the Championship. I would guess Lewis starts at left back again.
