WE6:FE - Slow getting up from a failed header

Is it just me or has anyone noticed how if 1 of your players and 1 of the comps players jump for a header but you both miss, the comps player always gets back up real fast yet your player seems to take forever.

WE/PES is m fave ever game which I play daily and have done for years but lil things like this and others like when you have 1 of the fastest defenders in the world yet you get out run by an average striker or they have an average defender and you have somebody like Henry yet their defender will always be close by, it feels like the comp is cheating and makes me wanna smash m console up @ times.

Still the best footy game ever made tho ;)

Yes I have noticed this. One time, I didn't go up for the header and the defender went up and missed  I just turned around and it was a free shot on goal, that was cool. but yeah, when you both do it, the CPU seems to have an advantage in this area (among others).

Could be a lot worse!

You could have FIFA 2003 where no attributes make any difference what so ever!

I haven't found the CPU in PES2 to be overly superior in most 1-on-1 situations. With FIFA 2003 I just wanted to strangle EA Sports but with PES2 you can see that the game is very real. I think any advantage is just to make the game slightly harder. In real life you have players who can get up quicker than you and the whole speed thing is obvious if you think about it. You can't have players who can outrun everybody on the field with PES2 or otherwise the game would be too easy as you'd just give the ball to them all the time and you'd go through to goal. It forces you to play a passing and tactical game. You can still sprint for a reasonable amount of time before being caught most of the time.

Be thankful you are worshipping the true soccer God of games and not the Satan that is EA Sports, lol!

yeah, i've noticed that a lot.
It makes you want to smash the console !!!

I feel the CPU cheats big-time on Extreme Level.

In the last 10-15 minutes, the CPU suddenly becomes super-charged....I don't know what they drink at half-time.
Suddenly players which are just ordinary (in terms of Stats)
perform like Maradona, Pele.

I hate the part where the CPU runs to the byline and just
nonchalantly turns around to cross the ball ....your defender
can do nothing to tackle them.

Have you noticed how in the last 10 minutes, your defence
starts falling to pieces...I've seen the Red Sea treatment in
my defence several times just when the CPU needed to score
the goal.

Also, the CPU fouls the **** out of you and you never get
a free-kick. When you're the last man being fouled, there's no
red-card either...whereas you could get a red-card for a foul
even in the opponents half.

Konami have made a great game...but the CPU cheating and
the referees make it very frustrating.
I just hope they rectify the balance a bit more.
But in a sadistic way, the cheating makes winning all the more
satisfactory. The game is a beauty though.

Glad its not just me.

Like I said, I love this game more than anything else I've ever played, its just annoying that something so stupid can annoy ya so much.

It doesn't bother me as much as it bothers you guys it seems. I got tripped in the box the other day, clearly a penalty, even my sister would know that that was a penalty, but no call, no nothing. But I mean you see that in real life no? Managers after the game saying, a few calls didn't go their way. Also, the fact that the CPU gets super charged during the last 10mins of the match when they are down, i think that is an awesome thing. Because it is realistic, when a team is down and they want to win, they start to put more pressure on you, and get a bit careless with their tackles. I think I've seen that on the Tele more than a few times.

The things Konami have to work on is making the game more free flowing. I mean it is the best free flowing game out there, but there are moments of "paralysis" that occur everyonce in a while. Like when your player doesn't come to the ball all the time (greatly improved from WE5), or when your players runs for a thru ball and follows the ball out of bounds or when you play a high ball to one of your players, you see a defender closing so you figure with your footy knowledge that you should move to the ball so it doesn't bounce and the defenders doesn't close on you, but your player doesn't budge...more control can defintely be given to the players, but if you look back in the past years, they are giving us more control with each release.

Yeah, for me, the CPU cheating ruins the 1 player mode including ML. It's worse than ever in PES2. I've not played WE6 FE yet but from what I can gather, it's just as bad.

The last 15 min super-charged AI is so bad it's actually quite funny. It;s like the game just stick 2 fingers up and you as if to say "yeah, i'm cheating, what of it?"

The sooner we get on-line ML, the better. AI sux.

Couldnt have said it better.

Im not complaining about dodgy refeering decisions, in fact that only adds to the realism.

The thing I hate is that when you change the AI skill level from normal to hard, rather than it becoming more skillfull it mostly just increases the speed of the CPU's players.

I mean...

Owen V Keown ... Keown is the slowest donkey you have ever seen yet I saw him annihalate Owen whilst I was roaring towards goal.

Henry V Melville.... I've seen Henry get roasted by the old man Mellville who I think could probably barely keep up with my Grandma.

on the attack..

Ferdinand V Hartson... errr, why has the fat ginger one just out run the speedy Ferdinand ....??? Come back ya big fatty !!

I can tell ya one thing, drugs testing doesnt exist in the world of WE ;)

yeah i noticed that too, especially when the CPU is losing.. i was winning with united 2-0 against chelsea, playing on hard level.. then in the last 10 mins suddenly the CPU became so strong as if am playing on extreme and managed to get 2 goals to end it 2-2.. :kader:
The CPU cant just cheat when you are playing on a harder difficulty

It's a difficult one for KCET.

The problem is that with PES2 (and presumably with WE6FE), they've given players more control over their own guys when in possession of the ball. This is surely a good thing (going back to WE6, it just feels a bit cumbersome) but it also makes it easier to keep possession and play expressive football....too easy.

To compensate, they seem to have simply made the AI cheat more, particularly on level 5, but I just find it annoying when I can clearly see the cheating unfold before my eyes....it's just too obvious and lacks subtley and realism.

By their own admission, KCET need to work more on the defensive side of the game for WE7/PES3. I just hope that they come up with a system that is hard but fun, not irritating. The AI needs to show more intelligence, organisation and tactics rather than it's current reliance on attribute cheating and scripting.
