Konami's insulting release is the reason I keep hoping against hope that EA gets their act together one day. If nothing else, EA can say they send everybody the same crap. I'm looking forward to WE6. I know it'll be better than FIFA- I just hope it's better enough to offset the hand-me-down drawbacks.
BTW, does anyone know what Konami would have stood to lose by making WE6FE in an English language format and releasing it here in the States? How much financial risk would have been involved?

No, no. I meant it as a legitimate question.
Konami's refusal to compete best game for best game with EA here in the States was a legitimate gripe the first time I aired it, and the thread wouldn't have taken such a downturn if the question had been answered in a civil manner. My point was not that this game is bad, it was that Konami hasn't even given America the chance to appreciate their best version. Not in marketing, not in distribution. If it sells in Asia, it will sell here. But not without proper marketing, like what EA does with their sports games. They don't do it with FIFA because they've always had the PS2 football market all to themseves.
I don't know for sure when WE6 was first released, but it seems like I've been hearing about this game for some time. Don't get me wrong- I'm glad they're releasing the game here.
Because the japs believe westerners have different tastes and therefore require a slightly different version.
you never had a PES1 so your not missing out your simply going straight to PES2 in 60hz.
North Americans should be greatful, as I am sure europeans will recieve a version of WE7 thats is not quite WE7, if you see what I mean.

You're probably right about what they think. I'd disagree with them, though- football is football. Even the continental differences are slowly going away as more clubs hire players and managers from all over the world.
This will in fact be my first exposure to the game. I've been stuck with FIFA all this time (World Tour Soccer was an improvement, tho), so this will be a step up in any case.
What are the differences between WE6, PES2/WE6I and WE6FE?
From everything thats been said here and elsewhere, I am aware that PES2/WE6I is an updated (data wise) version of WE6 released in Europe and America (and this is the one I own. The only reason for updated data, may I add, is later release date).
Will WE6I have updated data compared to PES2 or is it just the exact same game converted to NTSC/60htz?
This leaves the question what is extra in WE6FE - the game with the tag greatest football/soccer game on the planet!?

Unfortunately, I was still playing FIFA thru last week. I also have World Tour Soccer (known as This is Football in some places) 2002, but I haven't bought the 2003 version because I've been waiting on WE6. If you only have a PS2 and you don't have a mod-chip, those are the only choices. Konami didn't release MLS Extratime for PS2, and MLS Gamenight isn't all it should be in terms of control.
I may also get World Tour Soccer 2003 because it has North and South American leagues. That alone makes it worth the price.

Yo, Auriaprottu...what up? Nice to see someone who appreciates the efforts of WTS...the new one is definitly cool if ya liked the first one...new animations-more overall control-some of the jukes have been tweaked for the better..they actually work alot better...finesse, ya know..gotta know the right time...the So. Amer. teams like River Plate are there
....I'm renting it till i get WE6.....rent it- I'm REAL curious to see if I'll need it after WE6........w/b
