Manchester Utd, haven't bought anybody yet. 2 stars and 7-1-1 so far. Still in the cup, semi-finals I think.

Bit difficult to navigate at times or maybe I can't be bothered so I'm definitely looking forward to a 100% translation patch.

...haven't started ML yet. Still trying to get used to the game. The Japanese in the ML also intimidates me a bit. I figure I'll move on to ML once the full translation is out. But above all I need to get a better handle on the game.

I have ball control, dribbling, possession, defense, and, yes, even offensive buildup down pretty well, but everything falls apart in the offensive fourth of the field for me. Still having trouble creating solid scoring opportunities w/ crosses (crosses being a tad bit floaty is contributing to this, yes). I also just can't pull the trigger quickly on shots. I get knocked off the ball at the last minute, or, more frequently, find my shots getting blocked. When I do get off a clean shot, I usually rush it and send the keeper a pretty weak one.

Anybody having similar difficulties? Any tips or advice, outside of the usual 'with practice, comes skill'?

How exactly is the ML set up? I mean, what is the top league, how many cups etc etc..gimme as much detail as you can..;)

Well, I had a quick bash at ML today and it seems to be like this:

When you choose which team you want to be, you then have to select which regional league (North, East, South or West) to join.

Each of these leagues has a 1st division of 14 teams (North Regional League has all the English and Scottish teams, East has the Italian, Greek and Turkish teams). Anyway, that's 14 x 4 = 56 teams in total.

However, you join 2nd division which consists of 8 teams. No matter which region you join, it's always the same 8 teams in the Division 2 (Fulham, Brescia, Monaco, Lens, Auxerre, Benfica, PES Utd and WE Utd). Division 2 will then only exist in the Region that you join. So if you join North, you start in Div 2 and try to win promotion to Div 1...but East, West and South only have a 1st division. You can view the results of matches in all 4 regions.

There is also an FA Cup in each Region where all 14 1st division teams compete. When in Div 2, you compete for a Div 2 Cup but do not take part in the Div 1 Cup.

Then there is the WEFA Cup which is essentially a scaled down Champions' League consisting of 16 teams (the top 4 Div teams for each Regional League qualify and go into 4 groups of 4 teams).

I suppose it's a reasonable system but it's a bit crude and half-assed. I don't know why they couldn't jsut have a shed load of extra teams (even just blank teams which we could create ourselves) and have proper 16 team 1st divisions and 2nd divisions and even 3rd and 4th divisions. 8 teams in a league is pretty pathetic. Ah well, maybe in WE12 they'll finally get a realistic strucutre.

I went from 1/6/5 (13th) to 7/7/5 (5th). Whoa, feeling good. :rockman: :mrpimp: (H)

1 draw then 6 cons. wins (no cheating!) :crazyboy:

8 more games to go, hope I can make it to, at least, the WEFA Cup. :) :D

since my memory card from the gameshark2 broke(even though i dont touch it or take it out of the socket) i cant play....i want to start an ML though....sounds like fun ...anyone get any promising players....is it still the same system with them

That sucks man... I think you should get yourself Magic Swap CD/DVD, bro - less hassle, less loading, no additional hardware, ability to boot original imports... You can't beat that.

Pretty much, except you can't use MS to enter codes & stuff - it's not a cheating "device". You boot it up, "Insert Disc" screen comes up and.......................................
