WE8 --- XBox or PS2? Which to get?

I hope this doesn't start some silly little argument, but I was wondering if I should get the PS2 version or the X-Box version of the game?

I bought the PS2 versions of WE6 and WE7, and loved how I could download the updated files via X-Port, etc. For those of you who know, will anyone be making that sort of file for the X-Box, since it has the action replay to download with?

And are there any gameplay/graphics differences between the 2?

By the way, the lack of Live support doesn't matter at all to me, as I don't have broadband.

Thanks for the help.

You can buy a Max Drive for xbox from www.play.com and download option files for the xbox version too.

xbox version has no slowdown but if you're only playing offline, I would prefer the PS2 version.

with a modded xbox, it's pretty easy to install a lot of the PC patches for PES4.. don't know about PS2..

also with xbox, I have NEVER experienced any kind of slowdowns EVER

That could be because the makers removed all slowdown from the xbox & PC versions (look at my previous post) ;)

I have a question, if I bought the Max Drive, would I be able to use a PES4 PC option file and use it on my Xbox game?

I have a modded Xbox since a week, how do i update my game on my xbox? Just replace the files with the ones that come with wolfs patches? Or is there a differnce between pc/xbox files?

Thanks for the replies!

I don't have a modded system, and I'm not really worried about all the patching. It's just that since I have both systems, I really just want the better version of the game, if one is better than the other.

Last year, with the PS2, I was able to download a nice option file that had all the player names, team names, upgraded kits, etc. Are these pretty easy to find for the XBox version as well? I have an action replay by the way.

Zygalski --- Any particular reason why you would prefer the PS2 version even though the XBox version lacks slowdown?

Have you compared other sports titles on both consoles? Do you find any noticeable differences?

To my mind WE is a PS2 game, but I'm gonna get the Xbox version of WE8:I just to check it out and see how the series feels on the console.

And if your PS2 is modded, you may want to skip WE8:I altogether and just import WE8:LE, which features an English language option.

WE8:I (aka PES4) -- if that's what you're asking about -- is old hat, man!

How so? I haven't played my WE7 in quite some time (in fact, traded it in for store credit before WE8 is released), so I can't remember what the L2 and R2 buttons do. Anything? That's the only way the PS2 would have better controls than the Xbox version.
