For me, unfortunatley there still isnt a good enough PC soccer game. I wouldnt call either PES or Fifa good as they both suffer from major flaws. Yes both.
PES well documented flawed passing system, you will see has directional problems. When there is as choice of players within reasonable distance or you try quick passing it will not always go in the direction you have selected. The thru ball is a waste of time the majority of times and you again dont always have control over where the ball is going. I know some people are gonna say they have no problems with it, but they have just learned to accept it. I dont want to. The motion of the players is another unsatisfying thing and after every action is a dead stop. Try a 1-2 and the player who 1st played the ball comes to a dead stop unless I have pressed the right button combination. But the motion of running is not like this in real life wether I sprint or jog and that is because of something called inertia. It is impossible to have a motion that comes to an instant dead stop, there must be acceleration, deceleration. Fifa has this but I am not going to promote Fifa over PES, but I have seen some people say 'PES is better in every way'. As deftonesmx17 has said, make your choice but dont go bleating on about your choice being complete, perfect etc whilst pointing out the flaws of the other game. Those are just some of the complaints about PES and there are others, and there are about FIFA too, but I dont understand why the PES people feel a need to convert the world. I dont care who makes the game that comes closest to football, i just want it and I want it yesterday. But the guys who go 'FIFA will never....., I will download it just so when I argue its crap I can say I played it, I will never play it again.....blah blah blah'. Arent you just fan boys?

don't u think that ea will improve the story mode of UEFA CL 2005 in fifa 06, maybe they'll add special quests to the text-based game(e.g. the corners), it'd be amazing, if u could have special quests and NPCs like e.g. in Deux Ex

Too, Right.. The thing is, that i really do respect Konami, for the amount of work and commitment put into PES, which anybody must admit, is a very good game.
But to be fair ... Up untill the last few years, they have always managed to put out pretty entertaining (if not very realistic) Football simulation.
EA,s problem seemed to be, that they have spent too long dwelling on the fact of having full licensing and higher end of year sales, too long.
Resulting in them, sort of neglecting the game for a while, and not paying enough attention to what it,s main rival was doing to their game. Fifa 05 is one of the Best football games, EA have released in a while. It,s far from being perfect, but i feel it,s mainly the simple things, that let it down the most.
Although the gameplay is noticeably smoother... It still gets a little sluggish at times... Players tend to pause / freeze too much... The game still suffers from button lag ... And the AI still gets a bit confused, at times.
But i will give them credit... They are definately on the right route, especially now they have finaly introduced some degree of ball physics to the game.
Add to this, the Improvements (I mean flaws they have corrected ) in the UCL game.
So as long as they shove those black bars where the sun doesn,t shine. Fifa06 has the potential of having some amazing gameplay.
But theres also plenty of work to be done in other areas of the game ,too..

Heres 1 good reason why i,m glad i prefer Fifa to PES ...
I know theres no chance of turning into a "Sad B*****d!" ...
Seriously! You guys should take a good look at yourselves.
Endlessly Gloating on a forum, about a game, whats gameplay isn,t even that much Better than Fifa,s...
If you Actualy took the time to learn how to play Fifa & UCL properly, then you would honestly see how foolish you are...
This is coming from someone who has played PES4 for hours on Xbox, and the PC Demo, for 3 months.
Apart from the Shooting system, Set-Pieces and "Slightly" smoother gameplay ...
Theres honestly Nothing that you can do on PES, that you can,t on Fifa. (Turns , Flicks , Dummies, Individual player skills) you name it..
But you P***ks wouldn,t be able to see that, as you heads are too far up your own A***s ...
You,re also too Stupid to even realise that Fifa does actualy have the more realistic gameplay & player movement ( Regardless of the odd bit of skating or 200mph pass)
To prove my point, play a couple of games of Fifa...
Then watch a pre recorded ( or live ) Football match, after...
The sad part is the fact that, not many of you are mature enough to give an honest review of Either game ...
