WE9I Xbox with PS2 controllers

Hey there guys, so I got we9i Xbox, along with a ps2-to-xbox controller converter.

With this converter, the Xbox white/black buttons are mapped to L2/R2(for whatever reason). So that means inside the game, CursorChange and Dash are mapped to L2/R2(these are L1/R1 on the PS2 game). For myself, someone who's so used to the PS2 set up, this is a little distracting.

However, not all's lost. In the game's "Controller Configuration" menu, I'm able to change Dash onto R1(by changing Black button to Dash). However, the game won't let me change CursorChange to L1, because on the Xbox, the Strategy/Att/Def is set on the white button, and no matter what I do, I can't change it.

Anyone's got any ideas how I can do this? Currently the only difference is I'm pressing L2 for cursor-change, and it just feels weird. (I may still buy a copy for PS2, but I'd really like to get this to work)

I have the Xbox version along with the PS2 to Xbox converter and I have the same problem. I don't see anyway to change this.

I try my ps2 controller on the xbox with a converter and it was not as good as playing with the xbox S gamepad, all you need to do is just stick with the xbox gamepad, and forget about using a ps2 gamepad.I know its not the same feel.but I find that the xbox gamepad buttons are much more responsive than the ps2 gamepad button if you play with it for a few days you wont need to use a ps2 controller. I hated it at first playing with the xbox controller on WE9,I even went as far as getting another WE9 for my ps2 just so I can play with the ps2 controller, and to play with more people online, and now I see myself using my xbox more than the ps2 I also switch from using the D-PAD, and learn to use the thumbstick, and that also help me out .thats what works for me, might not work for you. but I gave it a go and took all the trip out of my head about the ps2 gamepad, and the xbox gamepad on WE9

Shotta, I actually see your point, and I've considered that as well.

Personally I find the Xbox white and black buttons to be so poorly placed that makes them essentially unreachable.

On the PS2, L2 is used for changing Strategy settings while in game, and this is a feature I almost never use, so yeah, losing this to the Xbox white-button isn't a big problem for me.

However, the R2 button on the PS2 is really useful. For instance, as you may already know, R1+R2 is super-cancel. R2 is also used for a lot of trick moves, as well as controlled-dribble. And losing this button to the unreachable Xbox black-button is just too much for me.

I find that trying to use the black button for controlled shots is damn near impossible. Haven't played a lot yet, but am having a very difficult time scoring as I can't reach the black button for controlled shots.

Another thumbs down to the black button . I use the PS2 controller on my pc using the USB converter and it's like trying to learn how to play the game all over again when switching to Xbox. I hate it.

I use the black button on the xbox game pad i dont have any problem with it, and thats just like the R2 on the ps2 gamepad the white button is the one thats more harder to reach but its not used as much in the game, but still i have no problem also madcatz makes a mini xbox controller thats great for WE9 it smaller than the ps2 pad you might want to check it out at gamestop here is a link.

you don't know the game, if you like play with an xbox controller!!!

R2 and L2 buttons are very important on their naturals positions, and xbox black and white button's cant make the same...

Xbox controller is an :-puke: gamepad for PES/WE series. This series borned on PSone with his buttons configuration and x box controller is not adapt for this game...

You don't really know the potentials of this game if you like play with an xbox controller... :chew:

It's only a game ok, and there are a lot of people playing it using the xbox controller, and im sure are playing it great and playing better than some who has a ps2 gamepad, have you forgotton that WE9 is also available for the xbox, dont you know konami wouldnt sell it for xbox if you cant use the xbox controller.whats important are you able to score goals, and win matches. ok everyone know that PES/WE was out first on the sony playstation,so you are not making a point here,and im sure if you use your ps2 gamepad, and someone else has a xbox controller you can still be defeated,and if thats the case you have no point about this matter, the object of this game is to win and score goals, and you can do this with both a xbox gamepad and ps2 gamepad.

Another point I forgot to mention since I'm owner of both xbox and PS2, and also have WE9 on both console.the game plays much better on the xbox, than it does on the PS2, and the main reason is the responsive action, that you get from playing on the xbox.over the PS2.also that goes the same with the xbox controller, over the ps2 controller.since the xbox controller is really usb base.I have play WE8 on the pc with both the ps2 controller with adapter,and the xbox controller, all I needed to do with my xbox controller is cut the end off, and attach a usb end from a old mouse, or keyboard, to get it to work on my pc, since all the wires in the xbox controller are the exact same as any usb wire, so also again my xbox controller was a lot more responsive than my ps2 controller with adapter, people use to complain online about using the ps2 gamepad with the adapter that they got sometimes not very quick response from it.what people like about the ps2 gamepad is its design and the way if feel in your hands when using it, and I do have to agree its the standard design that everyone copies.who makes gamepad.the design was so critical that MS had to change there xbox 360 controller, to something similar to the ps2 gamepad wish is the standard for gamepads.

Ps: i play only on PC (on xbox is impossible to play in the same way!!!) but ONLY with controllers that have buttons configuration and position as in the PS2 gamepad... this because you can play in different way if you have L2 down L1 and R2 down the R1,you can stop better the ball, dribbling better and use better all combinations buttons,(R2 is the special combination button) and use the supercancell... but you can't (want )understand!

In my PC i play PES/WE series only with these two gamepads:

No this object is for Fifa but not in WE/PES series!!!! :chew: :fool:

the object of the game is to simulate more better possible all you could make playing soccer on real life, with a gamepad (and you can't make this on xbox controller) and then score goals for win...

I understand your point, all im also saying is that you can only use the controller your posted, and thats fine, but you have to also remember some people are able to use what they got and with any means necessary.
