WEFA Championship qualification oddity

So I am about to start a new season on Master League. I finished 5th last year in Division 1, so I presumed I would be going into the WEFA Cup. However, when I start the new season, I notice that I'm in the WEFA Championship.

I even checked my club history and sure enough it also said I finished 5th the previous term.

Has this happened to anyone else? Are there any other aspects to the game that would affect WEFA Championship qualification? I won the league cup last year, but didn't figure that would have anything to do with tournament qualification...am I wrong?

Well, I placed 7th and I got into WEFA cup. So I think that is not weird that you got into WEFA Championships qualifications if you placed 5th last season. Along the manual even 6th can take part in WEFA Championships "pre-qualification".

Well you have to remember there is only 4 Divisions. Of course there will be more spots into the WEFA cup. BUT I think you have to qualify for the Champions League in a group before the season starts.

if you finish in the top 6 or 8 (can't remember) of your division, you qualify for WEFA championships -- if you come in 1st or 2nd during qualification (out of 4), you move into the initial WEFA group stage. If you finish 3rd or 4th during qualifications, you get dumped into the less prestigious WEFA cup.

The only time you go straight into the WEFA championship group stage is if you win the previous year or if you finish 1st in your division -- somethin like that.

I was under the impression that the top four teams from each division (northern, southern, western, & eastern) qualified for the WEFA Championship, and that the 5th and 6th placed teams from each division qualified for the WEFA Masters Cup.

Then, the 3rd and 4th placed teams following the group stage of the WEFA Championship got knocked into the WEFA Masters cup.

Am I completely off base?

I always thought it went like this:

1st or 2nd -- automatically qualifies for WEFA Champ Cup
3rd & 4th -- placed in qualification rounds for Champ Cup
5 & 6th -- automatically in Masters Cup

I think you could finish 7th and still go to Masters Cup if the team finishing 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th in the league won the Champ Cup.

On a related note, if you make it to the D1 Cup final and lose to a team that later makes it to the Champions Cup, do you get to go to the Masters Cup?

1-2 automatically qualifes
3-6 playing qualification matchs,

Then, Div1 Cup winners and Finished 3-4 four WEFA Championship groups joining to WEFA Masters Cup
