Weird Manager Mode CTD

Ive just been recently been having this problem. I recently installed all the other premier league stadiums with cm07 and installed 2g boots and ball only with 1g manchester united kits and adboards only. Now, every time i start a new manager mode, the first game i play doesnt load and crashes to desktop. I have played in EVERY premier league in 'play now' mode, but when it comes to playing in the first game of a manager mode the game crashes.

Now, heres where it gets crazy. If i skip the first games, usually at the madjeski or bramell lane, and play the same games later at the same bramell lane or madjeski, the game does not crash. This confuses me, because i cannot narrow this to anything solid, except that it might have something to do with the db and not the stadiums or other installed things at all.

Please help me figure this out! I know that there is a limit to the amount of memory the fifa.exe will load, but why is, or could it be different from 'play now' to manager mode? Or even in manager mode itself?

Just a guess, but is there something about the team that you play in the first game? Do they have lots of 1g or 2g faces? Do they have lots of players with 2g boots? Teams like Chelsea have lots of custom faces that are in the starting line up. Does your starting 11 have lots of custom faces and 2g boots?

he said he can play the same matches in friendly mode. so it can't be 2g graphics.

Hi,

My "guess" was that his team and/or the other team that he was playing was not using the same starting 11 in the friendly mode compared to the manager mode. Things like Retirements, Free agency and transfers can impact any team in manager mode and can be quite random at the start of a new career. It could be 2g graphics if the starters are not the same. Just a guess, as I've seen stranger things happen when modifying/adding graphics.

It turned out to be a corrupt player in the database. I tried creating a .cmp file with all the transfers for the winter then importing it into my current database. It turns out that, and i don't know if this is true for every team at the start of a career but, the teams would automatically reshuffle their lineups to the 'best 11.' I did NOT do anything with the database other than import them, so it was possible for me to play in play now but not in career because the player, or players that were corrupt were sitting the bench in play now mode where the cpu would put them in the starting 11 in manager.
