Man, I have been in search of the team that I want to play with as I've had the most success with the ultra defensive formation and approach with USA but looking at stats and just the feel of the game, I'm not really a threat on the offensive end, However I've found new life (offensively) with my new squad and their more wide open style of play. Last night I switched to Man City for the first time and tweaked the lineup a bit.... and biggity bang... the game changed for me.
I played using their default 4-2-2-2 and it really opened up the field for me. Plus they have 4 or 5 talented offensive players ranked over 84 overall and 2 or 3 of them have serious speed. I'm playing now with most of the tactics more aggressive like speed, passing and positioning however mid/low values on defending.. I want my back 4 to not take too many chances as they'll have far less help than my 4-1-4-1 formation for the USA will lend.
The team didn't finish well but in my 2 games with them last night but the game was played almost entirely in our forward (offensive) half of the field and I dominated possession and my shots taken were up 3 fold. I'm really looking forward to playing more with this team. The tradeoff is that the defensive 4 or 5 (including one sub) is lower overall ranked than most other 5 star teams and I suspect I'll end up giving up some goals to the likes of barca and milan.... BUT I tied Milan last night and ronaldo didn't even get a shot off!!!
If anyone has any tips on Man City, don't hold out on me! I'd appreciate all the help I can get.
I'm currently considering this lineup:
Defensive: Richards--Kompany--Lescott--Clichy
Dmid: Y Toure--------------------N De Jong
Mid: Silva-----------------------Nasri
Striker: Tevez-----------------Aguero
Subs look to be:
Dzeko ST
Barry Mid
K Toure - Mid
Kolarov - D
Milner - M
Balotelli - St
Hargreaves - CDM
OR
A. Johnson - LW (for Balotelli... must do some testing and just play with them)
I've tweaked EA's lineup a bit... As I took out K Toure in favor of Y Toure, Took out Barry and inserted Jong and took out Dzeko and put in Tevez.... I'm not a good crosser of the ball yet and the speed of Tevez suits me better than the bigger finishing and headding of Dzeko....
Thanks for any help you can lend, and thoughts on this team and or any specific players and/or combinations OR the changes that I made to EA's linep.... I'm just getting to know them now and could use a base of knowledge...
