What counrty has suprised you in qualifications for the world cup?

Isn't anyone surprised that Belgium beated Czech Republic twice??

I think they got trough because they got lucky they had easy teams like Belarus, Wales, Norway and Armenia. The only good team there was Ukraine.

Slovenia. Small, small european country with practically anonymous players and they played against Romania without Zahovic and Knavs. This are their two very best players at the moment. Another surprise is that they remain undefeated after all 12 matches for WC quallifications. Besides all this they ended previous WC quallifications with only 1 point.

+ Poland and Senegal.

-- Ireland (undefeated until last match)


Bad Surprise:
-- Holland
-- Brazil (even though they made it, they have been the most --underachieving side the last 4 years)
-- Scotland (they gave away some bad goals at the end of matches that could have made the difference)

What about us poor Aussies ... we last played in the finals in 1974 - we need to erase Iran from our memories, and show Fifa that Oceania deserves to have a direct entry to the World Cup, and then also perhaps the 2nd team plays off against the 5th team from South America (at least then both sides from tonight would go through, cause I could not see New Zealand beating Uruguay :-), and us Aussies would be straight through!)

Anyways, good luck to both sides, and may the Aussies flog you all! LOL ;-)

I can't stand the fact that Holland isn't there!!! We have so many great players... even if you don't like us you'll have to admit that we do have them.. just look at Van der Sar, De Boer, Stam, Davids, Kluivert, Van Nistelrooy, Hofland, Cocu, Overmars.. amazing players.. All the dutch guys did very well last night in the CL... 6 goals scored and Overmars, Kluivert and Van Nistelrooy all on the scoresheet.

Louis van Gaal should naver have been appointed as coach. His old fashioned 4-3-3 system doesn't work anymore... besides we have the players to play 4-4-2... Anyway.. it will be a boring summer.. I guess that I'll just have to support England.

I found that it wasn't the teams that qualified, but the teams that DIDN'T qualify, that surprised me. Holland didn't qualify, Romania didn't qualify, Brazil almost didn't qualify, as did Germany, the list goes on

i was disappointed with holland not making it alongside the czechs who are rated sooo highly :D next time!

the surprise in south america is ecuador's brilliance and brazil's foolness

biggest relief not to see them...IRAN because they have a big mouthed coach and their players wont entertain us as much as ireland will do.....( DEAI? BAGERI?KARIMI?....they were the reason for every defeat for IRAN....!)

Australia too aren't good enough to make it.... next year they will make the quarter finals in my opinion....

well deserved... senegal fought hard and earned it......
