Obviously there are hundred and hundreds I would recommend, but here are some great films you guys may not have heard of:

Fellini's La Strada, Fellini's 8 1/2, The Seventh Seal, Dead Man's Shoes, Night on Earth, The Hudsucker Proxy, El Topo, The Treasure of Sierra Madre, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Duck Soup, The Draughtsman's Contract, Rozencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Missing, La Balance, The Night of San Lorenzo, La Haine, Killing Zoe

High recommend City Of God (Cidade de Deus is the original title). It's one of the best indie/foreign films I have ever seen and some of the best camera work I've seen in any movie!

Ive been hearing for a few years now that its a really great movie but we didnt get it here in the states

It's available on DVD over here, send me some money and I'll buy you a copy and sent it over if ya like It's really good, not as surreal and controversial as Oldboy but the storyline is just as good and the terrorist element very relevant.

King of New York is another mediocre film which is really good because of Christopher Walken's superb performance, also worth taking a look at.

I was thinking, Bale's performance in the Machinist was pretty overlooked. Usually when someone transforms their body like he did (going pretty much anorexic) they'll get some attention. Probably because of the great competition and the movie being too dark.
