Seriously, what has happened to these CM Forums?
Its been on a long slippery slope for a long long time now, way back in 2002 the forum was bulging with REGULAR posters, we had discussions about aspects of the game and you had posters actually debating with each other.
Now for some strange reason, that slowly started to disappear, with it going came more off topic threads in 2003. Then, when CM0304 came out the silly threads started to slightly disperse and we had a small influx of decent threads, but more importantly NOT regular posters.
Now into 2004 we seem to have lost both these things, the only threads we seem to get now are of 3 different varieties.
1. Quite simply the question thread, applicable in any forum and this is what we are here for, that is fine.
2. Network games, for the love of god.
3. Threads about peoples clubs, we seem to have so many threads where someone is talking about their clubs, ive also found that it is hard to post in one of these if you havent read the first 5 pages or something. It was my idea to suggest a stories forum all those years ago, we got one, no-one ever used it! Also, come on, be honest with yourself, its bloody boring reading endless drivel about someone elses game, sure it is funny when you're reading one by someone you've known for ages (e.g. Sir_Didier_Drogba, Liam, Alex, Ruud or Rony for me) but when its some noob who doesnt post in ANY other thread what is the point.
There is no personal attachment or emotion to someone who you dont 'know', why do i want to read about someones story who has 4 posts all of them about himself. No thanks.
Where have the threads gone about aspects of the game? Predictions? Wishlists? Things that could be changed? How things work?
It seems that these forums have become less and less inteligent as the years have progressed, we simply dont get threads that at all require an ounce of inteligence to answer, the only threads that may be 'deep' enough to warrant some kind of discussion ARE threads about peoples games, but ive already highlighted the problem with these.
Theres two things wrong with this forum,
1. The 3 reasons i stated above for the sheer ****ness of the threads that we currently house
and 2. Where on earth are the regular users? I remember when we had 10 or so regular posters, that slowly went down and down. Now im not naming names but the people who post regularly know who they are.
Noobs come and go, but usually you get the odd few who stay the length, it seems that now THAT isnt happening anymore, and slowly but surelly all of the older members and past-regular posters are moving on too. It seems only a matter of time before I and other users do that too unless this forum somehow picks itself up.
