This isn't a spam thread. It doesn't involve the US men's national team, it's just about Beasley's professional play, and since it involves two teams it deserves a separate thread.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he start all of the time at PSV? Plus now that he's played in the premiership maybe his game has gotten good enough to be one of their top players.

Am I the only one frustrated by this? The top American players can't even play in the premiership. England has hundreds of players who can. And Beasley was supposed to be a great player. Remember the rising star he was in 2002?

Rangers is a huge team, dude.

Champions League, 51,000 in the stadium every week, what more do you want?

The Scottish League isn't as awful as it's made out to be.

Give it a rest. Convey plays in the Premiership. So do Dempsey, Eddie Lewis, Bocanegra, Tim Howard, Jonathan Spector, and Onyewu. Friedel is retired from the MNT, but he is still up there, and Keller could have. With the exception of Onyewu, I wouldn't call any of those guys our "Best and Brightest". Top American players CAN play in the Premiership, they just choose not to for personal reasons.

Eddie Johnson is a guy who needs to go overseas. I think he could be a star somewhere like Derby, or Birmingham, or Sheffied United. Like, a HUGE star. The face of the club.

Beasley was a sub in his 2nd season at PSV. Only the first season he was a regular starter. (Take in mind Heskey once was a regular starter for Liverpool as well, so it doesn't mean much, does it?)

So your saying that Da Beaz is a worse player than Emile Heskey?

Anyway, I have the gut feeling that Beasley will flop at Rangers, and will be back Stateside, with his reputation shattered, by this time next year. He doesn't know that the SPL is at least 10x more physical than the Premiership. I mean, most of these teams don't even try to play proper football. Stylistically, the SPL is the homeless man's Premiership, while the Premiership is the poor man's answer to........I forgot, but still, its nothing special.

Considering that Beasley spent most of his last two seasons on PSV's bench and Man City's physio room, I'm quite happy that he ended up at a club like Rangers.

Speaking of American players in Europe. What is the news for Onyewu? I heard Birmingham was interested...anyone else hear anything?

And Eddie Johnson wants to play in Europe. He hasn't gotten the right offer thought.

Beasley has moved to one of the biggest clubs in the world. Far bigger than PSV or Manchester City in terms of success and fan base.

With regards to the SPL, it's a hard league and the pressure on the Old Firm to win every game is huge. Many players can't handle it but hopefully he can.

I wouldn't piss all over the MLS or a league I didn't know much about so hopefully you know a good bit about the Scottish League before passing comment.
