What is better playing music outloud using a laptop or an ipod?

I am setting up my own music at my wedding (for the dance portion) and I am trying to figure out the best way to do this. I have speakers and an amp. Should I connect my laptop or my ipod to play the music? I am worried about breaks between songs and organzing the music. Which would work best for this? And what cords would I need for connecting them to my amp?

In addition, I'd suggest an app like Soundforge to edit the tracks you intend to play to take out the spaces before and after the songs so you avoid gaps between songs.

Maybe a laptop depending on what kind of sound card/speaker you have.


But a different option, vinyl records, the only drawback is that its hard to get these days.

Hire a DJ who spins vinyl unless you've got really good taste in music, which a lot of people on here don't. *runs*
