What is going on with the Assistant Manager?

Why does he keep playing players outside their natural position? It makes no sense. He keeps putting CB's on the flanks and wingers as strikers. It makes absolutely no sense.

I wrote down the player ratings and calculated the averages for Defence, Attack, and Midfield for when the assistant manager places them and when I place them. The assistant manager's averages were at least 6 points worse than mine! It doesn't even make sense mathematically!

Yeah, Fifa 11's assistant manager really s**ks. So, I just keep mine OFF all the time and I suggest you should too.
Lets just hope the guys at EA have found out about the problem and are trying to solve through their upcoming patch. (Whenever it comes)

The Assistant Manager would be fired by now in the real game. :)

Edit: Problem is of course, you can't turn him off for the AI - and he has no idea about defending - the AI's line is always too high.

I don't know... I think there are a couple of teams out there who would still keep him after a season...
