Deco and Guily were badly underated in 2004 , they were both 65 i think. Vieri and Van Nistelrooy were overated . Henry should be higher. The MLS players were all too high .

Anyway, I'd give Van Nistelrooy a '90', and Cristiano Ronaldo an '82' (he's still evolving)...

About ronaldo, yeah he should be about 85 or so. But hopefully (probably not) they will have his awesome stepovers and moves in the game. And in carreer mode he should improve faster than other youngsters. He was way too underated last year i think. Even in euro he was 73.

I don't think you should have an overall rating for a player. It is just confusing to be honest. I mean if a player were to have a 100 in pace then wouldn't that make him the best and for which everyone would shoot for. Therefore shouldn't player rated a 98 have every one of his attributes average out to 98. I mean how can a player be 98 overall yet have a 50 in tackling and 60 in long passing. The overall rating should be an average of all the ratings a player has. It is so simple yet EA has to use this system that makes no sense because it has no base standards.

if you dont know the system well it can be kind of confusing.

Different positions are based (for an overall skill) different attributes.

Like
Defenders are based partly on tackling and marking

Forwards are based on speed, shooting.

Just things like that.

It would be nice to see the system changed for the better, however its not my first priority.

I think my favorite player rating SNAFU is the fact that John O'Brien is rated 64 at Ajax, but is rated 83 with the USA. IT'S THE SAME GUY!!! Come on EA! Does he really get 30% better when he dons the red white and blue?

that would add tons of realism to the game.

Maybe they could add a mini game where you try to catch beckhams rocket penalty and sell the ball on ebay.
