ive recently acquired the services of leo messi & been trying to figure out how to play him...his best positions r AML & AMC they say...i usually use him as a substitute in the 2nd half & play him as a AML, sumtimes changing my formation if im behind or going for the win & play him as AMC...

but im not seeing the results id expect to see from him...hes jus doing ok, but i expect more...am i being unrealistic? Can he be played as a striker? Should i be more patient?
Whats yur experience with him? how has anyone gotten the best out of him? what position do u play him in that wrks? Yurs thoughs on this plz..thankx in advance..

Messi, despite having good stats, is actually rubbish. It doesn't matter where he goes, which position he plays in, he just doesn't seem to do the business.

Every single game I start, Messi never seems to have an average rating above 6._ _. And believe me, I've played quite a few games. I don't know why they made his ability so low. (:/)

I agree with you to some extent. He has probably the highest potential in the game... but he ends up having stamina that isn't to great... and after playing a game for 10 years, I checked up on him and he was doing pretty bad... he had less then 5 MOM awards (after playing about 10 years / 30 games a season). If I had him I would trade him for a more efficient player.

I would try playing him as a Left Winger.

I've heard a lot of Messi success stories with him at left wing. It's incredible how Barcelona are just dying to dump him about half way through the first season though.

He was great in my Barcelona team

I played him on the right wing (as a wing striker) but with an arrow to eto'o.
Allow him to play a lot of through balls and he will be one of the best.

I play him behind the strikers in a 4-3-1-2 system. He averaged above 8 in over 40 games, and got 20 goals and a load of assists. So maybe you should give that a try also. (Y)

Hes great in my team, he can play anywhere in midfield but is probably most effective on the left, and i picked him up for 5 million pounds at the end of first season

I decided to see what the fuss was about, and I was determined to prove my previous theory to be incorrect. And boy, I couldn't have been more wrong. :hump: I played him behind the striker (Ala Scholes) and within 5 matches under my management (H) , he became a 'Wonderkid'. Do not listen to what I had said previously. :p

Well, he was amazing with me at the right wing, whenever i put him on the left he never performed so well, but still very good.

I bought him in 2010 firstly as a replacement for Kilbane(33), my left winger. But he was also bought as a long-term replacement for Timmy Cahill cause he was getting older aswell at an age of 30.

I think the best posistion is AMC for him though.
