They are not releasing an official editor with the game [probably so you have to buy the season update].

An unofficial one will probably made, and i currently have one in the pipeline and ill keep everyone posted at OTB and here as well. I wouldnt be suprised if someone makes a basic editor in the next few days though.

Oh great. So it will be like FIFA03 creation centre download no doubt. That's ****ing lame and pathetic.

There has never, repeat, never, been an official editor shipped with the first release of a Championship Manager version, not for CM1, CM2 or CM3 - the reason for this is that effort is concentrated on actually putting features into the game and eliminating bugs.

The idea is that Sports Interactive will provide a 'homework' for third-party programmers, as they did for Championship Manager 3, as I helped to test and put together three such third-party editors in the weeks following the release of CM3 in March 1999. I'm also sure that, when SI have the time to work on an official editor, it will be made available to us.

That could take two to four weeks, or even longer, though. But unofficial editors are expected to be released today, if you're really desperate to edit the data
Otherwise, wait for GK or SI as a whole to release a reliable editor...

The day GK releases a reliable editor will be the day he beats me at pool without arguing about the rules...

But I don't think an official editor is on the cards in the next few weeks, but more perhaps months. A 3rd party editor from someone like Graeme or perhaps Tri Wasano could be along within a week or so, but certainly not today, I wouldn't think.

ive never had any problems with the Tri Wasano editor, if that comes out for CM4 i recomend downloading it.

Don't you have a job to do? Oh yes, sorry, you have completed it. This is why I blew 35 smackers today when I would probably have been better off buying FIFA2002.

I can't come to terms, nor think of an adequate adjective to describe how serious you and your cowboy company have pissed me off.

Well, haven't seen you in a while :D

Put it this way, now you know not to buy the next 2 games. Just bring the game back.

Bring the game back? I can't. I took it down to the park and ended up using the CD as a frisbee. So I suppose that it did benefit me in the end.

You have an odd concept of how things work, Hammer. If you don't like it... well, don't buy it. I'm sure you'll be much happier on the sidelines while CM4 goes on to break all sales records, as predicted. Thats consumer sovereignty in action. ITs just a shame that you don't like the most realistic football management game around, but I'm sure you'll find some pastiche of the beautiful game thats to your taste. FIFA 2002, you say...? :)

Simply put, SI were in for a shoeing whichever way it went. If it slipped any further, they would have been vilified. If it had come out at Christmas as it was supposed to, there would be one hell of a lot more complaints. I can't defend or attack their position, but I've been around long enough in contact with development teams to know that this compromise comes up with every single release.

Bottom line: if you don't like it, thats your opinion. You don't see me going out and buying hot jazz fusion CDs, then going on their forums to complain about the lack of Led Zep-style guitar riffs and drumming, do you?

You may want to contact comic relief to fund you. They like helping struggling countries. You may want to enquire if they also enjoy aiding struggling computer games full of bugs.

Most realistic? Oh please. I never knew that the crowd roar with delight when my centre back hoofs it up field, then when I score, the home fans are quiet. Oh, and please tell me a cockney or Geordie that plays Samba. I could have sworn I heard it in the West Ham v Newcastle match. Why in a Juve v Barca match does Rule Brittania play? Stop listening to Ray Houghton. You'll have learnt your lesson this time around with a bit of luck. Nice tactic engine by that way Pedro. (Y)

At the end of that day, I bet you every single member on this board would not have minded one single bit if the game had been pushed back until August, just to ensure it was working properly.

What's SI's favourite act? Fire eating? Walking the tightrope? Juggling?

Uh huh. The whole SI staff team need my size 9 boot up their Carlos*sies to get them into line and start producing the game we know they are capable of producing.

I think I agree with you, Hammer, I think you're the man with enough inside knowledge and dedication to turn this one around. I'll see if I can put you in touch with some of the guys at SI so you can help them out over email as to where they're going wrong.

Oh please do. Please. It will be like the Texas chainsaw masacre, only this time it will be at SI towers.

gareth, calm down. I know you're annoyed but then again most of us are. Infact, if you ask me, i wont name names but think about the people who are not posting at the moment, they will be the ones who actually LIKE the game, becuase no-one who knows you would dare try and have an argument with you bout cm4. We all know that, evidently drinky doesnt. As for you drinky - quit while you're behind, you wont win in an argument against gareth. lol

Erm, several regular posters on here like the game. Am I arguing with them? Nope

I am not arguing with Drinky. It's called constructive criticism. That way, when fans like myself speak out, hopefully the next one will be a bit better.
