Which do you like better, old Champions league format or new one?

As you all shold know the new format is 3 qualifying rounds, 1 group stage, and 4 knockout rounds

The old one was 3 qualifying rounds, 2 group stages, and 3 knockout rounds

I personally like the old format eith 2 group stages. I think it gave alot more presteige to the tournament. It would add more games and the best of the best would get to the later rounds, and less flukes would happen. The champion would actually be the best and they would have had to work hard to get their. The reason it was changed because their was to many games but I think thats stupid, these guys are grown men and if they can't handle playing 2 games a week well thats just pathetic. ANy anyways, the season is from August to may so i think their is enough time. What do u guys think is better

The old one. I'm not saying this because we crashed out before the 1/4 finals but I've been saying that since the new format was introduced. Although it may be tiring, clubs will have 6 oppurtunities instead of 2 to qualify into the 1/4s. And won't clubs earn more money from fans watching 3 games instead of 1 game at home?

Both......the new one is better because of the whole "tired" issue, but i also like the old one as there were more matches to watch :)

Yes, I think the same way. 2 group stages was an unnecessary thing, that only tired players more and didn't make sense. Competitiveness is greater in this format and upsets are more likely to happen.

The new one, the old one was making the Champions League lose its novelty with that many teams.

Same with me.

They changed it for teams like for example Madrid that have to play 3 games per week (La Liga, Copa del Rey, UCL), and that was devastating for their players

The new one is better...

It makes the CL harder to capture and cases of teams sending their B team. Its either your A squad or your gonna get elmnated. Also leaves room for more shock wins to happen and that makes everything more interesting unless its a game where Inter loses :D
