WHICH GAME SHOULD I BUY?

So many people are saying ISS is the best football game, so please do not mention it in this topic, i have heard it enough.

Now, I want to buy a football game on pc, but don't know which.

Is Uefa challenge better than uefa champions league 99/00. So many people are saying different things about uefa challenge, judging by all the comments it seems like a game that was rushed to get on to the market.

i don't want to hear any recommendations for any fifa games, because that is just scripted football.

Have any of you played uefa striker, is uefa challenge the same. I say this because they were both made by infrogames.

Plz what game should I buy?????????

ManUtd should have won............

Well, I haven't played UEFA Challenge yet, however I have played UCL 99/00 for some time... both game look somewhat a port from console, with no mouse control, etc.

UCL is somewhat dated, of course, but it plays very well, with extremely good plays. I can't play it now, unfortunately.
It has all the CL teams (32, I guess), with correct kit layouts (don't expect 100% correct kits), plus all finals since... 67, If I'm not wrong. These finals are playable in a scenario mode (turning the game in the 94 barcelona - milan trashing, score the winning goal for Porto in the 87 final, etc). You can also play in leagues, mixing both classic and new teams, playoffs, etc.
If you can find it (I can't), you probably can get in cheaply.
It's true that UC seems rushed, but hell, ALL PC games are rushed these days :( . However, you might have noticed we have really support from programmers willing to creaye patches and modify the game according to their ideas and our ideas.

I'll be getting the game trusting the patch will solve the already reported problems, so I think that it isn't such a mistake buying the game...

I believe UEFA Striker was more one acradish (not arcade) approach to the game.

Ooops! I forgot some other options...

FAPL Stars might be another choice, however I think that SCTW can give more details than I can

Actua 3 is somewhat on the line of UC. It competed with FIFA 99 (at the time, I said FIFA won, but I've changed my mind), it has a cartload of teams and national sides, you can create teams, and by winning leagues you unlock the teams. The "Made by fans" suits the game very well. The player graphics aren't as good as FIFA 99, but the moving flags in the crowd, the rotating adboards, etc. are there. You can get the game VERY, I mean VERY cheaply from the Re-play collection from Infogrames.

Thanks mate

It looks like i have to by both of them. There is one thing that not a lot of people know about, that is that uefa champions league 00/01 or 01/02 I think, is coming out this July.

I think that will be the best football game on pc, just watch that space.

I might create a forum.

and soleskar comes on ........

From the PS2 screenshots, with some minor graphic changes (heads, I think) the game will be a breakthru... Too bad it has so few teams :(

I just hop that we can create add-ons to the game this time... Maybe the reason why the game isn't very widespread...

UEFA Champions League 2001/2002??? Cool!

FA Premier Stars 2001 was great, but i would definitely choose UEFA Challenge.

Are you alright mate? That is the UEFA CL 99/00 review right? The graphics look terrible(not that I care) the game play sounds obsurd, "Players can kick the ball @ 50 mph whilst facing the opposite direction." What is that? Some guy even said the fifa game engine was better....lol lol.
Wait till the 01/02 version comes out and lets see.

The screenshots are of last years version, but I will have faith in UEFA Champions League 00/01. They have impressed me in the past, so i can only expect another quality game.

Wow, PC soccer gaming is really getting good :)

1) FIFA has competition
2) PC Gamers [will] have a wide selection of soccer games to choose from:
a) UEFA Challenge
b) FA Premier League Stars 2002
c) FIFA 2002 RTWC
d) UEFA Champions League 00/01
e) Euro Super League

Shez, Premier all stars 2001 is a far better release than the previous one, it has 16 bit graphics that are quite ok, a different control system than the main fifa series, brilliant stadiums <all prem league stads>, plus a few others that pop up as you progress through the comps, it was programmed by a team of British guys who for 'some reason' seem to understand the realities of football as opposed to the EA teams over in North America ..In regard to the other post that mentioned Uefa Champions League 99\2000,Alenichev and STCW have posted very good run downs on that game and both these football games are well worth tracking down at todays prices, they are both very playable and enjoyable .. At Gamespot.co.uk there can be found some screens of Champions League 2001/2002, and I must say it looks great! But next week I will finally get Uefa Challenge (for free! :D ) so that game I'm going to play first for a while. Alltought the stadiums don't seem to have all the right textures in Uefa CL01/02 when I look at the screens, for instance the Amsterdam Arena on the Davids picture doesn't really look like the real one.

Stars is a very nice game, great stadiums and so on (like ned said), but its a very fast game and much more arcade like than fifa.
the passing/shooting and whatnot are better than fifa but scoring from the half way every 2 or 3 games isnt very realistic but overall i like the game more than fifa

Sorry I gave the wrong link.

I want to buy uefa challenge, but what if this so called PATCH does not change anything. Please can you people tell me answer this, if this PATCH does do as it said on the README file then will it be the best footie game?

let me know

Beckham shoots from the halfway line......

Eleftherios: the shooting physics are indeed weird... however, to score great goals from outside the area, you have better results if you sprint (push the ball forwards) a bit before shooting.
