Who are you supporting for the World Cup?

Florentino can kiss my ass. Real forced him in the final two months of the season and now that the NT might do the same, he's all paternal and concerned. Fuck him.

Ronaldo performing in the world cup is good for his brand (see: madrid's brand) especially if Messi doesn't

A gimpy Ronaldo with no rest is gonna be much easier to sustain a long term injury.

Not sure where I read this, but he's the highest non GK in terms of games played in this four year period. That can't be good for endurance.

The Von Trapps
where's this list? I'm sure Matuidi would have played at least as many club games in the last 4 seasons as Cristiano ... and being a marathon machine, he'd cover more miles per game too ...

Xifio

The Von Trapps
hah, hunch "sure"? he stays injury free, plays in 3 domestic competitions plus the Champions League, and runs all day ... I'd wager he covers more miles (average/total) too ...

Xifio

The Von Trapps
yeah, I'll agree with that ... PSG only played in the Champions League for the past 2 seasons (which would probably be a more interesting comparison) ... and in the overall picture, Cristiano must have played more internationals too ...

That's weird. I mean, he played in Brazil non-stop then played in the Olympics, then came to Chelsea where he became a starter, then Confed, another season as a starter and now WC. There was an article on WAGNH this year or last about how he hasn't had a proper rest since he became a starter in Rio.

Well only UEFA club matches are included so that could be why. Actually in that time period posted he might be one of the few who has not gotten a proper summer break since then. He was the World Youth Championships in 2011 and Olympics and Confed Cup the following years, this summer he'll be at the World Cup and could play in the Copa América for the following two summers.

I don't think it counts cup matches either, which English and French clubs have a lot of given that they have both national cups and league cups.

I'll be supporting the US Soccer team, as always.
I'll be also secondly supporting Belgium, as always, because I'm half Belgian.

On paper Belgium is a tough team, but my heart/soul is firstly with the US soccer team. I'm more confident about USA.
Both team use to be unlucky with referee judgements... This world cup started on a negative way (I'm talking about the imaginary penalty accorded to Brazil...)...
I hope it will be better for the next matches.

I also like to watch the matches of :
- England, such good players, individually they're better than the Americans, but... I think the US team has actually a better soccer skill.

- I also have Irish roots, unfortunately except England, there's no other UK teams...

Belgium are in a group with Algeria, Russia and Korea. USA are in a group with Germany, Portugal and Ghana. How the fuck are you more confident about the USA?
