Who be smokin' Hookah?

Anyone into hookah around here? I love that sh!t man, nothing like sitting outside on a summer evening puffing away. Been doing it for a couple years now I guess, not too often, maybe a couple times a week.

Supposed to be popular in Europe and with the college crowd in the US, so I know someone's gotta be rockin' the water pipe up in hurr. If so, feel free to recommend me some good smoke.

I'm no expert, but I've tried it with apple-flavoured tobacco or whatever, and that was pretty good. Goes down a lot easier than cigarettes or ganja, but of course isn't as much fun as ganja.

true, true.. there's this brand of hookah tobacco called Nakhla that's really strong, almost feels like a mild ganja buzz. But yeah, it's even better when you actually mix it with ganja.

Anyway, I apparently can't smoke, I don't inhale it properly and it winds up making me feel sick. But I like that tube thing, can't remember the name of it. The **** rony smokes. Last summer someone brought one and mixed some weed with this flavouring crap and put in absinthe instead of water. Apperntly it magnifies the effects. Don't know enough to verify.

yeah, you can put all kinds of stuff in the bowl instead of water, can't say I've tried anything else though. Apparently red wine is supposed to enhance the flavour, so I'm told. I'll have to try it sometime..

Putting ice in the water is good though. The colder the water is, the smoother the smoke feels going down. Kinda feels thicker too, but that could just be me.

Here we call it 'waterpijp'. Don't know what's that in English. Waterpipe maybe?
Anyhoo, my friends and I use Vodka most of the time with that.

Anyways, we have an expression here which roughly translates to: "a dear/loved child has many names"...ganja, weed, marijuana, Mary J, reefer, black man 's Marlboro, etc...

It's a really relaxing smoke, great for just chillin' out. Not as good as herb, but way better than cigs, much smoother going down and tastes way better. There are a ton of different hookah tobacco (called "shisha") flavours out there and most of them are pretty good, plus depending on the brand some shisha is strong enough to give you a mild buzz.. and as mentioned, you can mix a bit of weed in there for an enhanced experience.

It's a great for social occasions too like playing poker or having some drinks with buddies or chicks. Yeah, hookah smoking seems to be pretty popular with women too. You see a lot of good looking women at hookah lounges..

Maybe it's where I live, although I always thought Euros smoked more than Americans, but tons of chicks smoke. Like, to the point where I used to carry a lighter with me out to bars and I don't smoke (of course now I realize giving a girl a light is a pussy act that will not get me any). Now I will just tease a chick about it, like if there's a decent vibe I'll bring up "if she smokes she pokes".

I'm still trying to buy this, but it's not available in Europe.
My current favourites are Two-Apples and Keaf by Al Waha, Grapes by El Fakher. I once smoked water melon flavour, but I don't know who made this.

Ordering from the US is no problem, but I don't want to pay the import taxes and so on.

A couple of years back I lived with two greek flatmates so we were smoking nagila (that's what they called it) all the time, these days I am less keen on it as it's started to make me drowsy and my head cloudy, but still find nagila bars to be a great, relaxed atmosphere (especially the outdoor ones in camden).

We used to have a double headed nagila so you could smoke two different tobaccos simultaneously, I remember the best combination by far was to have one mint flavour and the other apple, with ice in the water of course - the apple was delicious and the mint really, really cool on the throat. Don't bother trying it with marijuana though - complete waste unless you really know what you're doing, just sprinkling it in the tobacco has no affect whatsoever.
