I'm 30 and I probably have a stack of CD-ROMs taller than some of the folks that post on this board. I'm lucky that my 28 y/o brother plays just as much as I do and we share our games all the time. We're still waiting for a FPS that allows 2 (or more) people to play through the single-player campaign together - HALO was supposed to have this mode but they shipped it without. Alien v Predator II was just screaming for this mode.
I play a bit of everything but mainly its sports and shooters. I already have Madden 2004, NHL 2004 and Rugby 2004.
I just finished Jedi Academy two weeks ago so now I'm getting started on Max Payne 1 & 2. I'm halfway through GTA Vice City but haven't played much lately. I've barely even touched The Matrix or Tron 2.0.
My favorite games:
Sports - FIFA series, most any EA Sports title, High Heat 2002
FPS - Half-Life, Alien v Predator
3PS - GTA Vice City, Jedi Academy
Strategy - Alpha Centauri, Civilization series
Multi-player - Day of Defeat, Counter-Strike
I don't see any reason why I would stop playing games other than my thumbs falling off.
Gaming Milestones:
1980 - 7 y/o - Intellivision (Baseball, Donkey Kong)
1983 - 10 y/o - Commodore 64 (EPYX Summer Games I & II)
1986 - 13 y/o - Commodore 128 (MicroLeague Baseball)
1988 - 15 y/o - IBM compatible 386 (Earl Weaver Baseball)
1993 - 20 y/o - IBM compatible 486 (Doom, Civilization)
Since 1996 it's just been out of hand.
I failed Shakespeare my freshman year of college because of Civilization.
I broke up with a girlfriend because she thought I liked Alpha Centauri more than her.
Maybe one of these days I will grow...but I certainly hope not.
