::shinji:: said:Like these guys were saying before me, Doom isn't an easy first listen... I'm willing to bet most people don't like his stuff when initially exposed to it, it takes a bit of time. You really have to stop and really take in his words to apprieciate the genius behind it. Sometimes his verses are so abstract that you have to listen to them a few times to figure out what he's saying.
::shinji:: said:I think my fave rapper(s) is still Senim Silla & One Be Lo, simply because Binary Star is something I still listen to on almost a daily basis, it's become part of my lifestyle... especially Senim Silla, who I've actually chatted with on MSN messenger a couple times. Really down to earth guy.

ShiftyPowers said:I'll have to wait until Silla comes out with something, but I pretty much like all the One Be Lo verses on the Binary Star album better than most of the Silla ones. But I don't think that's necessarily dissing Senim Silla, since One Be Lo is amazing.
Yeah, OK, I agree with Dr. Dre and RZA, but IMO Kanye is better than all of them. Almost every song he produces becomes a hit (even before he was famous and commercial).Gerrard 17 said:DRE, RZA, Premier, Pete Rock, Timbaland, Neptunes, 9th Wonder....?
God, most of you have tunnel vision when it comes to rap.
I think we should merge this with the rap thread?

Can't stop the rush... said:Wow, Kanye is good. I admit it.
But better than Dre?
Someone needs to go listen to Chronic 2001.

Can't say I agree. IMO, almost every single Wu-Tang Clan beat (at least up until about year 2000) was very good. He just has a special sort of sound, which makes his beats unique. But the newer stuff that RZA produces isn't very good.ShiftyPowers said:I think RZA is so boring, even Wu beat sounds more or less the same to me. I also think Eazy-E was the WORST rapper of all time, and by that I mean I'd rather have my rhymes ghost written by MC Hammer than by Eazy-E.
John Legend isn't exactly hip-hop, is it?Help? said:Kanye West i think is really good, but imo John Legend is a bit better.
Didn't Kanye West produce "Used To Love U" (his biggest hit)?Help? said:Kanye West i think is really good, but imo John Legend is a bit better.
